Weekly Update#1 2/23/14 as posted on http://stasisgame.blog.com/
Since this is the first update for the team, this post will help depict what exactly has been going on the past few months. Progress has been slower than previously anticipated and our funding is running low. In order to receive additional funding through Kickstarter we need to have some finalized work to show to the backers. This is exactly what we have been working on: concept images of all our units, gameplay configuration as well as the game’s storyline.
Currently our trainable units are taking form quite nicely and we look forward to releasing all of their profiles on here in the near future. Sean Tooks, who is head of character design, has been doing an incredible job designing our characters. Unfortunately for Sean, I have caused a great deal of stress for him with my pickiness. We both know that what we want the game to feel and look like won’t be easy. This is why we are taking our time crossing our T’s and dotting our I’s.
The gameplay has been coming along quite nicely. You should expect to hear more detailed information on its state in the next few days. We have a lot of great influences from previous works to help us design how the commander (player) will interact with the world. This is also the part that excites me most. We get a glimpse of what our game will look and feel, which is pretty cool.
The storyline is looking pretty good for a rough idea of what we want to accomplish. The hard part will be dissecting the main points and expanding on sub plots. We still have a long way to go on the story line but that will come together once we begin programming.
We have worked a lot on this project the past few months. While our progress hasn’t been as fast as we want it to be, we know that by the time we launch our Kickstarter campaign you will have a clear picture of what we are trying to make. Looking to the near future, we should expect to have all of the character profiles completed as well as more information on gameplay. Thank you for taking the time to read this update! If you have any lingering questions such as when to expect certain things to be released or if you just want to chat comment below!
