I purchased it for emulation only....not interested in anything else. It's in my bedroom. I play something on Mame or the C64 for at least an hour before I go to sleep each night. I'll eventually get around to stuff from the Amiga 500 and Atari ST, but 8500 games on Mame, plus all the stuff on the C64 is going to keep me busy for a while.

If you're going only for emulation, I'd suggest getting a Rasberry Pi

I knew what I was getting into when I kickstarted the Ouya, there aren't really any games on it that keep me coming back just yet (interestingly enough the game I play most is sideloaded Dead Trigger) but I still load it up to check on new games every now and then. I have noticed an overall increase in the quality of games on it, and thing'sll only get better, especially when (if) gameloft ports its shooters to it.

I don't get to use mine every day. But when I do get to use it I almost always find something new that I enjoy.

I came into it with VERY low expectations and fully planned on ditching the stock software and using it as a media center. Instead I've had little interest in even working on setting it up as a media center because I keep finding silly little games that I love.

I've bought more games for the Ouya than I did on my last console (a wii). I played a lot of games on my Wii...but very few did I enjoy enough to justify buying. A few nintendo titles and EA Active were about the only things I enjoyed enough to actually buy and keep playing. On the Ouya it's so much easier to just try things and the games so much cheaper that I find myself buying games even if I don't plan on playing them much - but feel the price is fair and want to reward the devs for the fun they've given me.

I just got to spend an hour or two with mine this morning for the first time in about two weeks and instantly found a half dozen new games to try and 2-3 of them are staying in my Play section for the few times I get to play games.

Ouya has also given me a reward unlike anything else I ever expected. The openess and ease of development got me to finally get off my backside and start coding some games. I've looked into writing android apps in the past, and did a few simple RSS reader type of things that interacted with websites I've built. But never built anything worth publishing. But the appeal of being able to write a game I can sit on my couch and play with a real controller...that raised the stakes. So I've dug in. Start of July I had a long weekend with time I could spend and finally dug in. By the end of the weekend I had something playable. I'm still working on it and have since decided that my first game isn't really well suited to Ouya (it works much better on touch screen than with a controller.) But it's almost to the point I can publish it (just waiting on some better art and music from my collaborators and fixing a few bugs in the google play services stuff I added in once I decided it was going to be android and not Ouya focused.) Which by itself is a pretty sweet feeling of accomplishment that I wouldn't have achieved without the kick the Ouya gave me.

But even better is that my first game is inspired by my 3 year old daughter. I asked her what kind of game I should make and she said "Zebras and UFO's" not sure where she got that from and she wouldn't/couldn't elaborate on what exactly she meant by it. But I ran with it. I needed something simple and having coded a version of the old Atari game Kaboom in flash back before flash was flash (anyone else remember shockwave?) I figured it would be an easy place to start. So instead of a mad bomber dropping bombs I've got a UFO dropping zebras. She loves it! Yesterday at lunch she didn't want to eat so we gave her our nook to play with to keep her happy instead. She played one or two "real" games a little...but then her face lit up and she turned to me and said "I want to play your zebra game daddy!" And started it up. The smile on her face as she dragged those buckets across the screen catching the plummeting zebras? $100 and a months worth of free time were nothing compared to what that smile gave me. So incredibly worth it. I thought I felt good when she first played my game - but to have her actually request it and then seeing that big smile as she played....wow. Just wow.

Right now I'm spending WAY more time in Eclipse staring at Java code than I am playing my Ouya...but that's entirely thanks to Ouya so even if I'm not spending a lot of time playing it I'm spending a ridiculous amount of time on projects for the Ouya right now and I couldn't be happier. I've started a second game that is more controller focused, not much progress yet but I just started. Even so I'm really looking forward to having something in the Ouya store by the end of the year...even if it doesn't appeal to everyone I don't care - the fact that this system exists and people like me can teach themselves to code and release a game is such an amazing thing I have a hard time expressing just how wonderful I think it is.

Thanks. I've already finished Muffin Knight on a tablet. Antichromatic is too hard for me. I'm not that skilled with a controller yet. I will find more time soon though, so I will play more. I have at least 20 games installed that are waiting till I have time.

The Ouya is the only home console that I game on. I have always been heavy into arcade, retro gaming. So it is a natural for me to love this little system. I haven't been excited for any home console, like I have been for the Ouya, in years.

I originally read an article about OUYA when they were in the parking lot at E3. I read about the OUYA and I hate smartphones with a fiery passion. I still use a ghetto old samsung flipphone and figure if I want to play portable games I have a 3DS and if I want internet I have a laptop. I've always feared the day that smartphones would get technical enough to compete and put companies like Nintendo out of business.

However, I liked the concept -- free the games! Nintendos systems have been sucking lately with only good self published games and no third party support. I figured this would be the "ultimate" third party support; anyone can release anything pretty much on the OUYA. It was my birthday week and my gf ordered me one off amazon.

I didn't expect much seeing the launch games...a bunch of spaceshooters, platformers, retro stuff which I love but not much variety. If anything, I use my OUYA more now. Great games continuously come out that just exceed my previous expectations. If the games being released follow this trend we will be seeing some AMAZING games next year.

Anyone whos given up already on the system is a fool in my opinion. Emulation, XMBC, indie games all in a little $99 box that I can hide near my TV. This thing is never disappearing from my room until they release OUYA 2.

I love my OUYA. I use it for youtube and PS1 games. Plus sideloading games are great like Riptide GP 2.

I play Order and Chaos... but besides that, not much. Have my OUYA and 360 hooked up to the same tv and im on the 360 more then im on the ouya but that's because the 360's youtube app is the best youtube app out of all the youtube apps. (can someone please tell me its possible to sideload the 360's version of youtube to the OUYA? Because the youtube app on the 360 is literally the only reason why I keep buying gold.)
