    Crash bug in cyberdeck

Experienced random crashes twice now. Seems like when trying to disable a shutdown at a CPU multiple times.

    Hi prim,

I have been unable to reproduce this crash. I have attacked ICE while the CPU was not silenced to trigger an alarm, but that ended up with me dying before I could even try to disable the shutdown. I have also tried silencing the CPU node while I kill all but one ICE in the node, letting the silence run out, and then attacking and killing the last one. I then tried to disable a shutdown multiple times in a row both rapidly and slowly and did not experience the crash. I then went to the IO node that controls System Administrator Notification and disabled it, went back to the CPU and successfully disabled the shutdown. Is this similar to what you did or was there something different that you did?

    Thanks,

Yes very similar. Usually the scenario would be killing all of the ICE in the CPU, then trying to kill the shutdown(seems like it only crashed after pressing the kill shutdown button multiple times.) Also sometimes i am(as you mentioned) going back and forth between the CPU and the security Node trying to get both the alarms and the shutdown cancelled. If you are still unable to recreate perhaps i will try reinstalling.

Thanks for the port BTW; my GF watched me play for about 10 minutes and said "this looks like the nerdiest game in the world." I replied, "It is." LOVE IT.

    Thanks, let me know

Got around to doing a little more testing tonight. Played 2 or 3 contacts and after about a total of 30 minutes playing the game crashed when I ran quicksand. I also tried to test the shutdown alarm bug with no success. the game have just updated and I had nothing else running in the background.

PS: what do clues and pass code files do? didn't see it anywhere in the tutorial

for some reason this game does not give all the instructions. I tried reinstalling but still has the problem, i like this game alot, so i hope this game gets fixed.
O&C, Sky Arena, and Dust and Guns.

Not all the instructions? Which ones do you find missing. I thought the tutorials comprehensive enough. But then I have been playing the original game on a PC before and was more concerned with the control scheme on the Ouya than anything else when I read them.

Clues will highlight particular nodes in the Map View. For example, if you are on an Activate I/O mission, downloading the Clue file will highlight the appropriate node in the Map View that needs to be activated and show it even if you haven't found it.

Passcode files make it easier to deceive ICE. Think of it like finding the little index card that someone writes all their passwords on. (I know nobody does that.)

As far as crashes, their is an update in review right now that will help me to track down the issues like the one you just described and the shutdown issue from before. It may or may not help track down the issue that Krististrasza has been having. (I hope it does.) When an exception (crash) occurs, you will be taken to a screen with a red background with a bunch of text. It will mainly be gibberish to you if you aren't a programmer, but you can press Y to send the information to me. That information will allow me to find the exact line in the source where the issue occurred and track down potential reasons as to why it happened. Once there, I can fix it.

I hope to keep making this game better. It is interesting that I am getting much more feedback from fans on the OUYA than I did on the XBox. (I did get some. In fact, the hotkeys came through an XBox fan suggestion.)

    @MasterBlue:
What do you find lacking? There are several tutorials in the menu, including a fairly detailed walk-through in the matrix. If there is something specific that I could add to the experience, I would love to hear it and will likely implement it. All of the information included with the original Windows game can be found in the tutorials or by watching the tip box at the bottom of the main menu (plus some additional tips that I added). To a certain degree, the game is about experimenting to see what works and what does what.

Well, some of us never ever owned an XBox

I won't fault you for that! There are many days recently that I have not been happy with the company that produced it.

Can't wait for update. I was thinking having an unused button mapped to wait would be cool(maybe a bottom shoulder button) I find it somewhat annoying to go back and fourth in the r stick menu between get file and wait(while the file downloads.)

    Great work sir.
