I'm not sure what most others use around here, but I've been playing Phantom Hourglass on a 42" HDTV, with a wireless gaming mouse as my "stylus." That said, I doubt I'll be playing my actual DS much anymore, heh. I can't get over how amazing this thing is. Easily one of my favorite emulators so far.

If you're wanting to know which is the one you need to install for yourself... Easily Drastic.

Drastic will be coming out officially for Ouya. Also, if you sideload it, the (1.3?) version works. That is the one that needs a mouse for the menus. The latest (1.5?) build has full controller support for the menus and offers more video options, such as 16 bit rendering, but the one in the wild (ie: naughty sideloading sites and apps) is, by incident or design, set to make the screen become tiny and display only in the bottom left hand corner. The Dev replied to an email and confirmed that it was there to thwart pirates.

Anti-piracy measures in an emulator that is inherently built--no less, designed--for playing commercial games; some of which are still in production. Hm.

I understand hard work deserves some compensation, but that's a whole new level of irony there.

Still, the 1.3 version works quite well. There are only a few games that I've tried that aren't perfectly smooth; and that said, they are reasonably playable. I suppose there's no need to update yet.

They are designed for providing your own ROMs from your own physical media back-ups. They are also made for historical preservation reasons.

Indeed, the irony is not lost on me either...

Still, this emulator is really good. Unlike the paid PS1 emulator found at the Ouya shop, I've had no problems getting this to work (apart from the post 1.3 version). If it's a few pennies, why not buy this? I just bought ePSXe as I have found that it's a lot more stable and runs roms more consistently than the one at the Ouya shop.

If this means that the emu's in question get better, then isn't that a good thing?

When you say "1.3 version" do you mean the 2.1.3.2 version? I ask because I've been using the 2.1.6.2a version on my unrooted OUYA and it runs great (the only issue I've noticed so far was certain attacks sounds cutting out in Chrono Trigger.) Admittedly, I guess it's from one of those "naughty side-loading sites" but I wasn't really sure of another alternative that worked at the time being. It also just happened to be one of the first sites that I came across when I went searching for one that would work.

On that note, I'm glad to hear it will be coming to OUYA officially. I certainly don't mind paying for it, I just like to make sure it's a version that is completely supported for the particular platform I'm using it on, before I spend money on it. Here's hoping they get it on the store, sooner rather than later.

If the version number is in the bottom left-hand corner, then the version I use (that doesnt minimize the screen) is "r2.11a", if that is any use. Apologies for the version number mixup. Is your version stable and feature the new controller-friendly GUI?

EDIT: I just checked out the version you mentioned but I got a pop-up telling me that the license had expired, or something. I did manage to run version 2.1.2a (the version above the first release), but both of those version use the mouse-friendly GUI...sigh.
