Thread: new to ouya

    new to ouya

Heyhey, one reason I bought an ouya was so I could educate my young sons on "retro" gaming (using an emulator) so far I have got psx games to run their titles, but can't press start... the snes emulator doesn't recognise the roms I've downloaded. .. I have read tutorials on side loading & other tutorials but no luck.... any help would be greatly appreciated. ..

We'll need more information if we are to help you.
What PSX emulator are you using?
What SNES emulator are you using?
What device are you using to store your ROMs on?
    What controller are you using?

I'm fairly new to forum but want to say...

On Day 1: Tried SuperGNES. It wouldn't recognize ROMs stored on my OUYA, not external storage. Others have success with it. Same day, someone said to try Snes9x EX Plus. It instantly recognized my ROMs.

DrunkPunk can help you but don't get frustrated. Simple alternatives suggested here have been resolving my issues.

i have snes roms on the ouya and super gnes does a great job of seeing them and getting the cover art!

if you are using FPSE for the psx emulator, the start button is somewhat difficult. i am pretty sure that you swipe the mousepad on the controller while pressing R1. i read that somewhere and it has worked for me (although it always feels like i am blowing on a cartridge or something).

See what I'm talking about? People have an app perform perfectly for them that will be problematic for me. I have no problems with some games that others find "buggy".

Peripherals have been an interesting journey but you and your sons are going to have lots of fun with your OUYA!

i bought fpse (i think it was 2 or 3 bucks) and the sound worked after that. i think it is worth it to support the developer and the ouya. plus, all those games with sound for $3!

Guys, on the same note, I have the Fpse emulator and the Bios file, but all my ps1 games come in .zip, and from what I understand they need to be in .cue and .bin or something like that. How do I decompress the .zip games? I click on the file and it says Opening file or something (giving me the impression it is unzipping the file) but at the end it says "No Activity Found". Please advise, thank you.
