Isn't a 1 tb hdd for roms really overkill?

I see a lot of people saying they have a 1tb hdd for roms. I have 50 ps1 games, full rom sets for sms, sega genesis, snes, nes, ngp, pce, gb, gbc, as well as every compatible n64 game and a bunch of mame roms on a 64 gig thumb drive and I have plenty of left over space..

I don't have the PS1 games you have but all the rest I do and thought the same thing.
