I think a bunch of people are misreading my suggestion and changing it into some kind of money making scam.
Nowhere did I ever suggest that the game wouldn't be bought and owned by the player. Nowhere did I suggest that to complete a game token would "have" to be bought. Nowhere did I suggest one life per token. Let's set aside all this money making scam kind of thought. It's off base.
Once again.... A "home" game has continues. An arcade game had tokens to continue. I simply want the option to continue. If that option in an "arcade" style game was an option to buy tokens then if the game had "high replay value" I would buy tokens.....100 for a buck or whatever, which would be enough to finish the game one would hope. For those who wish to start over and over and over and over and over again they don't have to buy the tokens. They can battle all they wish to make it to the end.
The developers don't own arcade machines to sell and make money. I understand the point of the comparison but making the point only goes back to what I suggested in the first place. The developers could offer the token system and people who choose to could buy some which would support the developer since they are not selling arcade machines.
I honestly can not see why it would draw any negativity. It would be an option. Not a mandatory as people seem to be reading the suggestion. What I am suggesting is the exact same thing already happening in games. It's just not called token. In Muffin Knight you can buy "credits" to upgrade your characters and do what? Make it further in the game easier. In GraveStompers you can buy "bones" to do what? Make it further in the game easier. In many games you can go to the shop and buy what? .... let's call it tokens, do do what? Go further in the game..... as an OPTION. If you don't want to do these things you own the game. You can beat the game. Nobody twist your arm to go buy bones, credits, or "tokens" as I suggest. I guess people who are reading this wrong don't like the in game shops? Same thing basically as what I'm suggesting.
On another note I somehow missed that Super Killer Hornet is an endless game. I was thinking there was an end to a level and you would move on to the next. Still, when getting to a point a person is stuck at it would be nice to be able to continue and learn that section so the next time the player could move further.
