As a fighting games lover (but not really a good fighting gamer), i really wanna see this one finished. Very neat!

    Cheers,
    Fabrício.

While I can't say I'm not a tiny bit disappointed that the new stuff will not be available right "out of the box", I'd be happy just getting this in any form eventually. Out of everyone here, I'm pretty sure I've anticipated its release the most :3

OUYA games I've had a hand in: Slashers: The Power Battle (voice actor), Battle High 2 (casting/marketing director, voice actor)

    NEWS:

I'm taking a two-week break from working on the game, but in the meantime, you can play a PC (or mac or linux) alpha!

    Windows: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...ndowsBuild.zip

(These may not work as I haven't tested them yet)
    Mac: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...d/MacBuild.zip

    Linux: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...LinuxBuild.zip

I'm mostly just looking for feedback on stuff. I've listed some features / tasks I know I need to be done here:

At what state do you think it is appropriate for me to "release" the game and put it in the sandbox? This would be my first OUYA release so I'm a little unclear how it's working now so any tips would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

There is no more Sandbox anymore.

However, there is an Alpha/Beta section where you can list your game. That may be a good way to get some exposure while you finish it .

If you want your game/app reviewed, let me know! I'll ReviOUYA. Will also do previews and such as well. http://reviouya.wordpress.com/

Oh cool! Releasing it in the alpha section could happen sooner rather than later in that case! I should test if this even runs on the platform or if the needed optimizations for spritesheets need to happen sooner rather than later.

    Thanks for the tip!

    Here's some progress videos:

Also, here's a spreadsheet of the progress I'm making and the remaining tasks. It's a lot but hopefully I can still finish sooner rather than later: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...Yd4/edit#gid=0

I am loving the particle effects in this, looking quite nice I must say! Great stuff so far!

..This game reminds me alot of Groove on Fight for the Sega Saturn. The quirky characters and art design namely.

As I said earlier in the thread, I have both Battle High Games for the 360 and am SO excited to see this coming for the Ouya because once the 360 goes offline, there is no way to play the Indie titles, which is crap. I love these games and am so looking forward to playing this sucker on the Ouya! Should be a blast as they are really fun fighters. Lots of fan service for SNK fans too. You'll see what I mean when you play it!

    Thanks!

Anyway, I'm making pretty good progress, which you can follow on the Battle High facebook page.

I do have a question though. Do you think it would be better to get the game out as soon as possible or delay it a bit to make sure what is released on OUYA is perfect? There are some tasks that I could still release the game without -- improving characters, various particle polish, etc. I just want to get some opinions. Regardless, I think I'm going to start doing OUYA testing in early December.

I would say take your time and release when you think it is ready. No reason to release an early version and possibly give people an impression of the game that doesn't reflect its final form. But hey that is just me and I am patient. A lot of gamers are not lol
