Angry No internet connection, stuck on "Accounts"

Once again I have no connection to the OUYA servers, and so I can't get past the "Accounts" screen since my console can't authenticate my account. Is there any way around this so I can play the games I already have downloaded? It's certainly frustrating that my entire console is disabled because OUYA's servers aren't working.

I have no idea but I had the same problem when I stayed at a hotel.

Haven't tried this but maybe installing the app that lets you startup the console in XBMC or any other app will solve that problem. I think its called "boot" and its in the ouya store. Worth a try as a work around when you do actually get online and in your account.

Thanks. I'll give that a try... as soon as I can use my console again.

The connection problem has resolved itself now, but I'll let you know what happens the next time I encounter it. (No, sorry, I'm not going to unplug my internet router just for the sake of this. )

I did, however, download Auto Pilot and set the clock to the start-up app. Hopefully this will take care of the problem.

I wanted to add, though, that every time I lose connection to OUYA's servers I stupidly try to go to the "Account" page, which is where I get stuck. I can still play games (so long as I don't turn the console off) if I don't go there... but I always go there, and that always messes everything up until OUYA's servers become accessible again. Will I ever learn?

Coincidentally, I'm in FL too. The same problem started about 90 min ago, cannot get out of account area. Won't accept my log in password, gives me an HTTP error msg that runs offscreen, don't know what it says. If I cancel, it searches for wifi network, finds it easily, then presents the "create a new account or sign in with existing account screen" again and again.

I powered down the console completely, shut it off, submitted a support ticket to OUYA staff. When I turned on console, it checked for system updates, went right to the "create a new account or..." nonsense again.

I am not a happy camper.

That's certainly my biggest complaint about OUYA. Fortunately, the problem resolved itself for me, but OUYA's server does seem to be a little buggy. It is an unfortunate situation that we're pretty much hold hostage to OUYA's server and its ability to be online on demand (and, by extension, our internet provider) in order for us to use our console. I've heard of people simply not being able to use their OUYA when they travel if they don't have access to the internet. In my opinion, we should always be able to play already-downloaded games no matter where we are or how well the internet works at any given time.

You're right. This time around I didn't lose internet connection, tablet still online, same w/other devices. Either the OUYA has weaker wifi connection ability and disconnects for a second or problem is on their server side like you said.

3rd reboot, paired it w/controller, it scanned for software update, looked for wifi, asked me to sign in, finally accepted my password and now I'm in.

Was shut out, had to register with Support to submit ticket, 3 reboots and I got lucky. 2 hrs of my life I'll never get back.

During all of the occasions my OUYA couldn't connect, I had no problems with any other devices (computer, etc.) connecting to the internet, and my OUYA also easily recognized my existing WiFi account. Judging from that, and also the error messages (which, unfortunately, do get cut off) I saw on the screen, it was clear to me that it was a problem with OUYA's servers.

I understand that more and more people are getting their OUYA consoles and are connecting, but I hope OUYA will be able to make its servers more reliable very soon. Connecting to their servers, after all, is really the only way the OUYA will work. (A major flaw in my opinion, but there it is...)

I've read posts that we shouldn't expect to be able to play downloaded games offline because verification of purchase is always needed.

What about my phone? I have about 45 downloaded games on it. I can put phone in Airplane mode, no wifi, no cellular or go into the deepest woods with no signal and play every game until my battery runs down. Why don't apps and games on phone need verification of purchase?

    I don't understand the difference.
