    Wow!
    http://www.extremetech.com/computing...nd-its-amazing

According to this, the mobile Kepler GPU peaks at 400 gigaflops. The PS3 by comparison sports 218 gigaflops.
Literally, the Tegra 5 will be objectively more powerful than a PS3. Like, twice as powerful.

    Ho. Lee. Crap.

And the rumors said 2W of power drained. I don't believe it yet. But maybe, just maybe.

    Now, that http://blogs.nvidia.com/blog/2013/07...ler-to-mobile/ with:

    Samsung 3GB LPDDR3 mobile DRAM
    And
    32gb or 64gb Internal Storage

On Ouya 2 or 3 Would be Amazing!!!

Very much looking forward to the coming years. With 'next-gen' consoles arriving the landscape will start changing faster and more. I wonder how long it'll tzke for mobile chipsets to surpass the next consoles.

Ouya 2 should skip Tegra 4 and use this chip.
But if this chip really has that much power Nvidia might charge a lot for it.

Ouya 2 needs to balance between PS4 getting cheap and PS3 still in peoples memory, so they can say "more graphics power than a PS3"

It don't matter the power if we don't get the games do you remember the Sega dreamcast it was more advanced than anything of its time and still fail right now we got better graphics power than a Nintendo wii but 98% of all ouya games are pretty bad they just use 8bit or something like that i mean no offense to anyone but let's stop that and star making good looking games

I know at least three games where the dev hat to cut back some content/visuals because the power was not enough.
And more power alows indie devs to develop faster without losing too much time thinking about optimizing.

I agree. I made a 2D game for OUYA - The Lost Heroes. As you might notice the current version runs a little slow - not at full 60FPS it was supposed to (and at which it runs on my 720p tablet).

I have an update that fixes the frame rate problem and greately improves graphics and gameplay which should be released next week. But I had to make some compromises to keep running the game at 1080p (so it looks as it was supposed to look). Fortunately it didn't impact the graphics quality - but if I had faster GPU at hand (Tegra4 should be enough) I could add more complex lights, more high resolution graphics and more planes in the paralax background.

If they release in two years, they should skip Tegra 4
Otherwise, definitely a no-go. Tegra 5 would be too expensive immediately upon release, they have to wait a while for it to lower in price before they're able to stick it in the OUYA and keep the $99 price point.
Then again, if they last two years, a two year cycle versus a yearly cycle might be seen as a good thing from the standpoint of some developers and consumers.

EDIT: And yeah, Tegra 5 would allow me to do some pretty badass things in my game that I cannot do on Tegra 3, or even Tegra 4.
For instance, Unity just made it so that shadows are available in the free versions of Unity. Tegra 3 doesn't even support shadows, and Tegra 4 has only limited shadow functions (no shadow cascades, means shadows will have to be very low res).
If I had Tegra 5, I could make use of shadow cascades to increase the quality of the shadows in my game, and I think because Unity also added GLES 3.0 support, the shadows would also look smoother than a Tegra 4.
Additionally, I could add far improved lighting effects, such as muzzle flashes and explosions casting onto the environment, which is just too slow for Tegra 3, and probably 4 as well.

And the really cool part? If I could get my hands on a full Pro license, Unity just added support for deferred rendering on mobile. Clearly that's too slow for Tegra 3 or 4, but Tegra 5 could certainly handle it... and it would no doubt look amazing.

Qualcomm might have a competitive product. Nvidia is said to have high prices for Tegra, $99 could really be an issue then.
Imo with a "graphics better than ps3, newest gen hardware" a $109 (or maybe $119 with more memory) would still work.

Also about graphics power: many games could really need Antialisasing on the current Ouya.
