Thread: Riptide GP 2

Works great! Not everyone does side-loading plus working multiplayer would realy make this a worthy purchase if only it was available in the ouya store!

The only thing that ruined it is the awful Bluetooth lag with the Ouya controller....happens with this and other games, got 10x worse with the last update too....I know it's the controller because using a PS3 controller works perfectly no problems or lag!
Is there any way to reduce the controller lag? It's crazy bad and makes this unplayable. I guess I could use an X360 wired controller, no?

It seems to get worse the more stuff that exists on the screen, meaning to me that the GPUs are being pushed to the point of lagging the rest of the system. I love looking at this game - I just want it to work reliably so that I can show people what this tiny little box can do.

When I had my system rooted with Xposed it would run very choppy for me. I ended up removing GP and root and everything and installed it from Amazon. Played fine from there for me

Ok...so, I have the Google Play version of this game. Now, everyone says it works wonderfully. The only problem is, it doesn't. Apparently I'm the only person on the planet with this issue as numerous Google searches, forum searches, and a general scouring of the internet have not turned up anyone with serious issues. Now, when I install the game, it shows me the Vector Unit logo and crashes. I have a stock Ouya, no root, no mods of any kind. I first tried installing the .apk I got from doing a backup with ES File Explorer. I moved the .apk onto my PC via SD card, then onto a USB drive. It crashed right after the logo. Next, I tried using APK Extractor then put that .apk directly into my dropbox. I accessed the dropbox file from my Ouya, downloaded and installed. I still have the same issue. It shows me the dev logo, then crashes to the Ouya menu. I can't figure out what's wrong here. Apparently, just about everyone gets this working just fine. But for some reason it's not working for me.

Tomorrow morning I will sideload this to my new Ouya (I have had it side loaded to both my other ouyas from july and then august) for you. I'll look into your problem and get back to you.

I would appreciate that. I don't know if it's an issue with the current firmware or what. I'm just a little irritated because I appear to be the only one having this issue, and I just don't see how that's possible.

Here are two ideas, at least.

First one is to go to developer settings and make sure the console isn't set to kill apps once you leave them (default on Ouya).

The other is to try and launch from the Play store. It's most likely that it's the former suggestion that is the cure, though.

I've tried the dev settings trick, no change. As for the Play store idea, I'm not super fond of the idea of rooting my Ouya. Besides, I'm seeing all over the place that it should work without any mods or root access or anything.

I download and installed it with no problem so I don't know what to tell you.

I'm assuming you are using the most recent firmware and everything? What version number of Riptide GP 2 are you running?
