Thanks for the kind words!
I am pleased to say that I was able to get 2-player support working to my satisfaction this weekend.
GravityGamesInteractive: yes, I did not stick with strict NES limitations. The pixel resolution is 320x200, and the color palette is a subtly modified EGA palette rather than anything that mimics a real NES palette. I did stick to a 4-color-including-transparent limit on sprites.

Well, I just got my first rejection from the submissions process.
When I looked at the attached log, I was puzzled to discover that it looked to me like a normal exit, not a crash. Then I thought about it. I programmed the title screen so that pressing System or A would bring up a menu prompting you if you want to exit the game, and if you press O on that, then it will quit.OUYA do_not_reply@ouya.tv said:
Unfortunately we can't yet distribute Don't Eat Soap! (1.1.10) on OUYA.
Here is our team's feedback. Please consider it. We'd be thrilled if you resubmitted. Thanks for the submission! This it is really addicting. The game is stable but I did notice an issue. When launching the game while holding several buttons on the OUYA controller the game will crash while it's booting. Please address this for future submissions.
Here's the log, hope it helps:
So starting the game up while holding down O+System or O+A would perfectly naturally cause a quick exit from the title screen.
I am a little puzzled as to how to proceed. I guess I could deaden the A button for the first 4 or 5 seconds of the title screen, but to me that feels like a slightly more annoying bug than the behaviour they want me to fix.
Any suggestions? Has anybody else been rejected for anything similar to this?
you really don't need a way to exit the game, double pressing the system button will take u back to the OUYA menu anyways
Hmmm... that is true... although that takes you all the way out to the main menu, rather than just to the Play menu. I do like it when games give you a way to exit.
Maybe I just need to restructure my "Quit" menu so that confimring the exit is not the default selected item.
Restrucuting the Quit menu did the trick, and Don't Eat Soap has now been accepted into the store! Yay!
I am closing this thread, and opening a new one in the released games subforum: http://ouyaforum.com/showthread.php?...7384#post57384
