    Gunblitz - Rapture Game Studios

Gunblitz is an exciting retro space-shooter 'shmup' with a playstyle all its own. Its unique control scheme integrated with the gradually unlocked abilities must be used strategically by the player in order to clear the levels. Players move with the keyboard and aim missiles and abilities with the mouse. Old-school challenge coupled with a blockbuster soundtrack promise to enthrall the action-craving arcade enthusiast inside everyone. The novel 'heat' mechanic and the slag-strafe ability are sure to add a depth not before seen in a shmup

Gunblitz will be avalible as a launch title for the OUYA when it is released in March but if you cant wait or just want to help support us you can purchase the Full game or play the free demo Here

    Hey,

As a fan of sidescrolling shooters (currently working on one myself), I'll be interested to see where you guys are going to take Gunblitz. Great soundtrack so far - I'm downloading the demo now. (As an aside, you seem to have missed a : from the link to the free demo in the OP.)

    Cheers,
    György

Digging this up until an official thread goes in current games.

Just wishing to say, I actually love this game. The art is a bit so-so. But the gameplay, music soundtrack and the game in general makes this a cracking "Bullet Hell" Shmup!

Hmm, guess it took a little longer than March for this game to be released

Played through the demo of this yesterday, and i think this game has an awesome game mechanic.

What stopped me from buying was a few things. When i played the demo i normal mode, i never got to access the other weapons that use the OUYA buttons. If this was intentional, you might consider changing it to make the demo feel more dynamic. The other issue i had was with the last boss before the paywall, the boss was off screen 80 % of the time, so while i was getting fired at, i was able to return fire.

One more suggestion would be to indicate some sort of hitbox or weakspot on the bosses or larger enemys. A glow or specific color maybe.

With this all said, this game should be at least tried by all, and deserves to be out of the sandbox.

    Keep up the good work.
