This thread is for the discussion of Freedom Fall. (note to developer - send me a private message if you would like to edit this thread)

Freedom Fall is a fast-paced down-scrolling platformer. Run, jump, plummet, glide, slide, swim and bomb your way down through a towering mechanical maze and onto freedom. It's a trip brimming with devilish traps, dark humour and fractured fairy-tale heart.

I REALLY enjoyed the demo.... But the cost compared to the standard android version is pretty steep. Still might buy it to support the dev and ouya but its def a little bit too much.

I contacted the developer about an error in the game and I was curious if anyone else was having. At the end of each level I am returned to the game select screen and have to reload the game to continue. At one point the game kicked me into the Mame emulator. Has anyone else experienced this problem and if so did you have a USB Flash Drive plugged in?

On another note, this game has the only music I can think of that I turned up in a game. Most game's I go straight to settings and turn the music off. I seldom even give the music a chance.

The story is pretty funny too. I caught myself sitting with a big cheesy grin while playing. The reference to bankers was it for me. I will love this game for all time :-)

The game ran just fine for me. I also have a 8gb USB stick plugged in permanently.

I had a similar problem with GraveStompers. They indicated it was a conflict in the Ouya. The Ouya sometime's tries to save to the flash drive.
Whatever the problem is I'm sure they will figure it out and fix it.

Slightly high price, but I still loved the game and the character design. The game reset to Ouya when I tried to start a new game twice, but after that, it ran just fine.

This is a great game despite it being the highest price on any platform (even PC is $7.49).

The writing does continue to have a very amusing tone to it, and pushes the game along nicely. Level design does improve and you will die, a lot. But it is indeed very polished.

The game has 12 levels overall. Each one can take anywhere between 3-10 minutes to get through, depending on whether you try and speed run them or just attempt to go for the time/bolts/deaths cog bonuses. Of course that does mean you are likely to blast through this game in around an hour. So if you are somewhat a completionist, this game may hold some value to you. But if you're more a play, complete and forget sort of person, you may feel a little disappointed with the game's content.

That said though, the game does have 2 endings where at one point in the game, you are given the element of choice in which to change the story. So you will get effectively 2 play-throughs.

My opinion overall? I did really enjoy it. With a couple of bosses thrown in as well, it added a neat little challenge, and it was good to play a few of the levels horizontally, as you're not alway just falling, you will have to do some jumping, some swimming and navigate obstacles, which will mean having to ascend a few times as well. However I would say the price is most certainly a little too high. It would have benefitted optimally at a $5.99 price point in my opinion given that the PC version could potentially be open to modification and the Android phone version is around $2.25. It does leave OUYA gamers with the short end of the stick.

However it is a very good game, and when you consider the price of your normal console title, it really isn't that bad. That said, for the price of this, you can pick up 2 or 3 other OUYA titles that'll each give you 2-3 times the game time length of this. So at the end of the day, it comes down to whether you think those 2 levels in the demo are reflective of the price. For the quality, and level of polish. I would say yes personally. But everyone is different.

I REALLY liked the demo and the story's presentation is definitely the most interesting part of the game. It has beautiful graphics, great sound and a nice challenge which I expect will get more difficult as the game progresses. Nice to hear there are boss fights and more stuff to shake up the gameplay that you don't get in the demo. Too many OUYA games give you all of the gameplay in the demo. I do have some issues with the wall jumping, it feels a bit unnatural to me but maybe that's something to get used to.

I'm definitely considering buying the game but at the price it is now I would rather spend my money on other games before getting this one so maybe a sale is in order.

Really enjoyable game - little on the high side price wise, but on the whole a really nicely presented and enjoyable title.

Also, had to get a screenshot as my device wallpaper - the graphics and animations in this game are really cool.
