I cannot wait for the Google Play version!! It works brilliantly on the Ouya & it's going to be nice to have it on my Nvidia Shield products.
Long time no see! Hope things are progressing well on the app, and glad to see your still working on Nostalgia. I updated yesterday, couldnt see what was new but im guessing lots of bug fixes here and there, the only thing i can remember not working was the mame search.
Hows the Google Play version coming along? I cant get by with that gameroom or whatever its called! i need Nostalgia for my phone, tablet!

A huge thumbs up for this. I sold my i3 Bartop arcade for an ouya and a big HDD and don't regret it one little bit.
I purchased nostalgia and haven't looked back.
One issue I'm having though is Japanese psx games, they display as their north American counterparts?
For example Biohazard (Japan), When I first fetch metadata etc. They don't pull cover art, so I do an interactive search and Biohazard shows up, once complete they display as Resident Evil.
Any advice?
You can provide your own cover art. It's not the most convenient fix, but its pretty easy. Simply find the cover art that you want and place it along side the rom. There is a naming scheme that you need to follow (i think its cover.jpg, can't remember for sure) and I believe a resolution limitation. Even so, I found this way to be much easier than messing around with the UI to get the right cover art for some games.
Hey everyone. I just got back stateside. Not home yet but I'll get all this responded too as soon as I can.

Spent the past 3 days getting to know and love Nostalgia! I'm blown away by the fetching of art and such but am curious... A few common games don't seem to turn up artwork even when doing "Fetch Game in Interactive Mode" (ie. Puzzle Bobble / Bust a Move on Neo Geo) - Strangely searching Puzzle, Bobble, Bust, etc turns up nothing. I suppose I'll look into manually adding some art to a few missing favs - BUT overall just wanted to say thank you for all the effort gone into this frontend, I'm in love!
Would it be possible to have a new scan option?
Especially the ATARI VCS2600 and the ColecoVision archives on the net are very complete and exhaustive. They have a lot of subarchives, that contain different ROM-dumps and bootlegs of a single game. Sadly, since some of the emulators do not understand 7Zip or any archive-format at all, I had to extract them. When extracting such a single game's archive this is the result:Code:Scan into subdirectories: YES One Subdirectory per game: YES
If a game-item could be defined as per-folder, that would be great. It would be handled like a stacked item.Code:Air-Sea Battle (32-in-1) (Atari) (PAL) [!].a26 Air-Sea Battle (1977) (Atari) (PAL) [!].a26 Air-Sea Battle (1977) (Atari) (PAL) [p1][!].a26 Air-Sea Battle (1977) (Atari) [!].a26;2048 Air-Sea Battle (1977) (Atari) [o1].a26;4096 Air-Sea Battle (1977) (Atari) [o1][h1].a26
Bye, Andreas
Guys I am still not able to work on this app or even have frequent access to a computer outside of work at the moment. Hopefully will be resolved on tuesday.
Mame4droid is one I am working on but the intent needs some manhandling.
The play conversion has required more changes than I thought but lots of it is done. There are still some unpredictable graphics issues I am cleaning up as well.
Hopefully I will have a new device helping out shortly. That will cut down on some development time and keep the project being worked on consistently even when I am out.
I'm not sure what benefit there would be to "one folder per game" other than cutting down on the amount that of Metadata files and maybe saving some fetching time. But I will consider it.
