    me too.
just got my shield portable a few weeks ago, and running a fully working Nostalgia on it would be awesome.
...and it'd be totally worth paying another buck for =)

Just want to add my voice to this...have a Shield Portable as well and am badly missing Nostalgia since I sold my Ouya. Stupid question but you often post links to the apk...what would happen if I tried installing to my Shield? Nothing good I imagine...

Update: Well it installed fine and I could navigate around much to my surprise. I went to configure an emulator and it could "see" MD.emu was installed. However when I went to configure the rom directory I couldn't choose my external usb 2.5 drive. So that's that then!

I hear you guys on the Shield/other devices. Once this next official release is out and proven to be stable I will be doing some work to move to google play. I have the shield as well, just not a ton of time to work on the app.

Speaking of working on the app though, here's a new version:

    • Modified the offline validation token to be more forgiving for different hardware setups. If you are always offline you will need to connect again to validate online to generate the new offline token.
    • Modified the file browser to browse from root instead of /mnt (Incidentally, this will help out vanzan)
    • Modified some position resuming code. You should find yourself back at the same position in your game list more often now
    • Probably fixed a fetching bug that was only affecting one person as far as I can tell but it should be fixed
    • Fixed a bug that would let extensions be duplicated in the ignore list and still not ignore properly

Includes all of the previous fixes after 2.4.1 that aren't in a store release yet:
    • Fixed crash from a search that has no results
    • Removed some lag on the Y-menu opening
    • Fixed a crash resulting from menus closing incorrectly
    • Fixed odd text spacing below cover on details page
    • Updated FAQ url to the correct address
    • Added update checker that will alert on the splash page
    • Fixed a crash that resulted from apps with no icons
    • Misc small fixes here and there
    • Fixed bug that could cause a crash when setting purchase vaule for the Y-menu
    • Fixed crash that would occur if config menu was paused and then resumed
    • Fixed search on interactive fetch that would return nothing when there were more than one or two results
    • Possible fix for crash that occurs when fetching for all configured systems

The only significant thing left to finish is the MAME fetching process which is more or less done. You can tell there are a few versions you guys never saw. I put everything else on hold while working out two bugs that two users were experiencing. Normally, I would push forward with dev while also helping people out but these two bugs are bizarre and took a lot of work to investigate and work out.

I'm also noticing a new trend in users. It seems more often than not now, new users of the app that reach out to me have no idea what ouyaforum is or that it exists. Interesting...

Can I ask if the new token can allow an unlimited offline play? It's for the list of the offline working games I sometimes remember to refresh. I don't use your application so I can't verify by myself (the program looks awesome but I don't have a use for it, that's all). Thanks!

For the second part I took from your post, I wonder if you invited them here. Spread da voice pleeeease!
Most of the time I keep my OUYA offline: please consider it before inserting a phone-home/always online DRM in your game. If you still plan to do so, please declare it. You don't want pirates, I don't want to be frauded.

Nostalgia should always "work" offline after the first run. Some of the features wont work like game data fetching. Actually that should be all that doesnt work. But it does require that the purchase be verified once. If you buy it from the store and then tomorrow run it for the first time offline, you will be in demo mode until you run it once online to generate the offline auth token since ouya does no local reciept tokenization or anything.

And yea, the way I tend to find out they dont know about the forum is by directing them here to get betas and things.

Both answers are great, thank you! Updated the list and hope to see some newcomers!

I could do some testing on my device (JXD 7800b) too (if necessary)

Last two bugs have been validated as fixed. 2.4.2 has been submitted to the store. Once that is live, I will be keeping an eye on the crash reports and user input. Assuming all stays quiet I will begin working on the play version.

how do you select the emulator with a non ouya controller?
I have ps3 and Xbox 360 games pads and the trigger or shoulder buttons on either don't bring up the console menu on the left.

Thats odd. The code supports both of those triggers. I'll take a look at that and let you know.

Also, I'm toying with a new nostalgia icon for things like play devices and all that... its a start...
