Stability most likely? They need to test such major changes extensively before implementing it, unlike a dev in the community who does the theoretical work with a little testing and lets the public test it. This is why updates, even small ones, take time even on major consoles.

meanwhile the media is tearing the console apart, developers aren't thinking exclusives and OUYA is missing it's chance. Controller and SD problem are probably the largest issues they need to worry about right now and another month and this thing is the next Sega Dreamcast. What project manager at OUYA can't prioritize to the needs of the people they are trying to sell to? Get real... 8.5 million bucks for a sub par 1million dollar product.

I was an OUYA fanboy at the start. But OUYA has proven that they are going to ignore all of us and strong arm their ideas off into the future, even if it means running off of a cliff into certain death. I can't believe they decided to have a contest for Kickstarter. Pledging 1 million dollars divided into 4 pieces for the top OUYA game projects. $250K a piece. Either they know their store is more like an XBOX Live Arcade and need more games or they think they are one of the big companies and can waste money too fluff up system interest instead of using that cool million to fix more problems. Don't get me wrong...I want it to live to see a polished Tegra 4 or Tegra 5 version, but my faith is waning. In the meantime I've turned off updates and I'm doing what I want with the system. People should not be afraid of root. You are root. You are control. At my work I have root to thousands of enterprise class HP-UX, IBM AIX, Solaris, Redhat, and SUSE Linux systems. I am not afraid and I can explain to anyone right now what not to mess with in the OUYA and what you can mess with without blowing anything up. The SDCARD mounting is not one of those things you need to be worried about because it isn't part of the system that makes OUYA run. It wont stop OUYA from booting and wont stop ADB from working. Root is about knowledge and responsibility. Unix/Linux based systems don't baby you. They aren't like Windows where it asks you 8 times if you are sure you want to do something. They assume you are responsible enough to have root access in the first place and do exactly what you tell them to do.
