OUYAForum Supporter Upgrades - Anyone interested?

Spread out the rewards per tier. Lets say that Silver gets a signature pic, slightly higher visitor/private message cap and the "Silver Member" title. Gold gets an animated avatar, signature pic, higher message cap than silver, one extra point of reputation power and the "Gold Member" title. Platinum could have all that, another reputation point, the highest message cap and also can have the ads disabled. Silver and Gold would be good candidates for the one-time fee pay model, whereas the Platinum would be good for a monthly subscription seeing as how with the ads disabled that cuts into revenue. I've also seen where some places do the "Lifetime Member" thing for a very large fee that includes a mix of perks.

Could also change the names from "silver" and "gold" to something fun, I was just using those good 'ol stand-bys as examples.

Non-animated signature picture that is very limited in both file size and overall size.
Extra smilies exclusive to them and above.
Extra reputation point power.
A insignia that is automatically attached to their posts, showing that they're Silver Members.
No monthly payments.

- Gold -
All of the above and also give them average signature size in both regards.
One more reputation point.
Animated smilies exclusive to them and above.
Better insignia.

- Platnium -
All of the above with more exclusive smilies, reputation points, animated signature, and a better insignia.
No ads.
No monthly payments like the other two.

There are my thoughts out in a nice list a la Ms Riot. I took out the animated signature suggestion only because I personally don't like to see them, although it would be a great perk.

That's my point. The prices are way to high for a special status club. At this point the rewards aren't very good if more was offered more could be asked for. You shouldn't expect the silver rank to be what keeps you afloat. It's lower so that you can get more people into it. It's not like there's any real reason to upgrade right now other than to support the server and if that's what you're going to rely on you're better off asking for donations and offering rewards for those donations. A premuim member service is trying to offer stuff for a subscription so people are going to want something worth paying for. At 2 dollars a month I'm sure a lot more people will be willing to do it for what it's offering or even as a small way to help the forum.

And he didn't ask to make a profit it's to cover server costs. And at this point it's hard to justify the price overtime without really knowing how much you need per month

Apples and apple. He makes money so he can put it in the website. He's "given" money so he can put it in the website.

As long as being a regular user isn't way to restricting (I struggle to make ends meet with the rent and food and will remain a "free" user for the time being if this goes through) I think it's a good idea. Like RiotingSpectre said, it's made for profit, not making people happy. But then again, people won't pay if it doesn't have obvious perks. I mean they barely pay for the games.
