    Lost Audio

Had an odd thing yesterday... Lost all audio on my Ouya. Was working on Friday... brought it home, hooked it up on Saturday and nothing. My receiver was saying it was getting PCM audio to it, but nothing. I tried different cables, hooked it up to two different TVs and even different audio ports on my receiver. Nothing. So, I decided to do a factory reset to see if that would solve the problem.

    Audio returned.

Can't figure out what happened. The only thing I can put my finger on, was perhaps it was the 'Blue Board' app in the app section (allows you to use your phone / tablet as a keyboard.) I thought maybe there was something going on with that, but even with it not connecting to the phone and uninstalling that app, I still had zero audio playing through.

    This happen to anyone else?

I had the same thing happen, but audio returned with a hard reset.

Same here. No audio on wake, but hard restart via the button on the console solved it.

Did you try that first OP? I'd hate to think you did a factory reset for nothing. And I'd hate to think that I may have to do a factory reset next time I have this problem even more.

Oh, no I turned it on an off several times, even moved it to a different TV, which required me to kill the power on the unit when I moved it. I tried everything I could think of and nothing. Just the factory reset is the only think that worked.

I am currently in this state.. what is interesting is if I go to the advanced settings and pick a sound for alerting, the audio WORKS.. it doesn't work in games or on the OUYA startup splash graphic or anything other than the advanced setup screen. I've powered it off several times and unplugged the power to it overnight. I'll check again today before I do a hard reset.

What about "hotplugging" the HDMI cable? By that I mean unplugging & replugging the HDMI cable going from your Ouya to your AV gear while both devices are powered up. This should force a new EDID HDMI handshake and potentially tell the Ouya "Hey idiot, the audio device is over here! Send sound to this guy!".
Also, what are you connecting the Ouya to?

I also had this problem a few days back, did a few hard resets and the sound came back once and then disappeared again?!? I ended up doing a factory reset, the sound has returned.....I'd hate to have to do that again, luckily I had only used my Ouya for a few days so I didn't have much downloaded yet....but if these keeps happening, it will be a real pain in the a$$

I had done that as well. (Hotplugging.) Ever since I've done my reset, I haven't had any problems (knock on wood) so let's hope that I don't run into that again.

So, I did a factory reset.. It did not help. I am not sure it really did what I expected - shouldn't a factory reset set it back to the default of when I pulled it from the box? It immediately checked for updates and said it was up to date. All my apps were gone, though. So now I have to re-download all my games AND my sound STILL DOESN'T WORK. I've hot-plugged, no change. I've plugged it into a different HDMI port on the TV.. I'll look around to see how to do the hard reset.
