    Ouya vs. Modded Xbox original

Which one do you think is better?

I prefer the Ouya. Even though a modded Xbox plays Xbox games I don't really play a lot of Xbox games. The ouya also does n64 better as well as psx. My old modded xbox could do 1080i through component but the Ouya does 1080p through hdmi. The Xbox however was better at sega cd emulation. I can't play popful mail on my ouya. Also the ouya is a lot smaller then the original xbox. I also don't have to hack the oya to get it playing emulators.

What do you want to hear?
Xbox looks terrible on a flat screen.
    No Wireless-Controllers
No Plug & Play (you have to use ftp etc. to get stuff onto it)
    1080p
emulators for android are still beeing updated.

I keep my modded xbox but on my crt and for the living room the ouya.

An Original Modded Xbox might be able to Output 1080p, but the problem is that it isn't able to play videos at that resolution. Hell, it even chugged on some 480p flvs. It's true that many of the emulators are more polished than the ones on Ouya currently, but with time that should change. The Tegra 3 is MUCH faster than an old 733MHZ PIII with an IGP with 64MB shared Ram. With that being said, it's still makes for a very decent SD media box, but now that the Ouya is out the Original Xbox is much less of an appealing proposition especially when the next generation OUYAs come out. You'll probably see first generation OUYAs all over ebay for $50 or $40.

Why compare OUYA to a modded Xbox when the Xbox is so old?

I'm comparing them for use as emulation devices. A modded xbox is normally considered great for emulation. No matter if it's old or new.
Edit: I meant to mention Xbmc. i forgot because I don't watch tv much. Only when I'm with a friend.

A lot of people use it as a media service since it can run XBMC (arguably on of the best media players) and had a lot of emulators that were made just for it and ran great. Plus it was actually quite easy to hack them if you had an action replay. Since any system since is so locked down no one really upgraded from Xbox originals for their media service. And why fix what isn't broken? But since Ouya can do all of that too out of the box, is 100 bucks, and can output to HD a lot of people with XBox at the center of their entertainment are looking to upgrade. Which I think is definitely something to do. XBMC devs are working on it and the emulators out now work for the most part and are getting a lot fixes.
I'm amazing, you probably just haven't realized it yet.

I would have to go with the Xbox1, Ouya doesn't have anything that can play as many games as Coinops or FBAxxx. True N64 is better on Ouya, but nes, snes and every other doesn't come close to being as polished. Visually Xbox1 emulators and XBMC have at least a year on Ouya before you can compare the quality of them. Something the WII couldn't do. You would be better off finding a way to port Xbox1 emu's.

And the Xbox1 does have wireless controllers from Logitech and it feels like a 360 controller.

You may be right about the emulators because the ones on Xbox Original are much more developed, but with regards to XBMC I'd have to disagree. The mere fact that the Ouya can play HD videos makes it better as a media center box. So far the Alpha build for the Ouya still has quirks, but's it's definitely better than than a modded Xbox original.

No it never had the horse power to play mkv's. But the dashboard was slick, with all the skins, with fingers crossed, Ouya will apply that same mod.

Xbox suffers for emulators imo. You can't connect a Pad with a decent D-Pad for Nes, Snes, etc.
