Ouya Audio Delay
Has anyone else noticed a 0.5 second audio delay when emulating games from a USB hdd? I tried ignoring this since launch, but now I can't stop hearing this delay and is making me quite sad...
This doesn't seem to occur on any games saved directly onto the internal storage. I'm using a WD My Passport 2TB Fat32 with a 3.0 USB cable. Maybe the Ouya USB port is providing insufficient voltage? (I'm not using a y-cable)
I would prefer to use this hdd if possible, but am willing to try out another method. I noticed some people loading games via Dropbox, etc. For some reason, I thought Ouya had an SD Card slot, but I guess not. Thank you!

I wonder if it's from the drive latency. I'm using a 128GB USB stick from PNY and it's flawless. I'll test one of my external drives later sometime and report back.

I'm using a 64 GB PNY stick (and a SLOW one at that, I might add) and haven't had any issue with sound or sound emulation running MAME, SNES, and GBA roms.

Has anyone else tried this using a hdd with USB 3.0 (and no power supply)?

I have a Western Digital 1 TB external hard drive, and I'm experiencing this audio delay as well. It's really starting to tick me off too, and I can't stand it when my games are doing this sound delay. I may have to probably load my ROMs and such into my PNY 64 GB thumbstick and give that a try.
This might be a longshot, but is it possible the emulators may receive an upgrade to the options to have audio offsetting? If that was possible, that would erase the whole audio delay problem everyone's having with playing ROMs from external hard drives.
Also, I tried playing ROMs from my PNY 64 GB thumbstick, and I'm still experiencing an audio delay. Don't know how you guys aren't sensing it.

Are you able to do a recording with your camera phone or something to show what you mean? I'm definitely not experiencing any audio delay.
Is your audio going through your TV or to a receiver/theater system? If it's going to the TV, do you have any sound enhancements enabled? I know you said it was only on your external storage, however I'd test just about anything when I'm out of ideas. lol

As for the TV, its a Philips HDTV. I haven't any recording equipment for me to test this with, but all I know is that the sound is delayed about 0.25 - 0.275 seconds on both of my USB devices and it gets very annoying. It did this on both the Western Digital 1 TB external HDD and my PNY 64 GB thumbstick drive. I wish I knew what I can do to make this stop.
As for my sound settings on the TV, it's set to:
Auto Sound - Standard
Equalizer - no changes
Auto Volume Leveling - off
TV Speakers - on
Audio Setting - Stereo
There are no other settings that can be altered for the TV's sound properties.
If I knew what kind of screwdriver to open the OUYA with to get the SD card out, then that'd be a big help. I could copy all my ROMs onto that and I'd be set straight.

I'm getting the same audio delay when I try using a flash drive. It can't be our TV if we are not hearing the same problem on games that are saved directly to the Ouya internal memory. Like a mentioned above, the delay is quite small and probably a lot of people don't care or notice it. Here's a video of the issue (haha sorry about using my iPhone for video):

My Seagate 1tb drive and my 8gb sony usb stick has no Audio delay or maybe I'm just used to it lol

@twisted: thanks for looking into it. Sadly, I still get the audio delay... I try not to pay attention to it too much, but it's even present when watching movies via VLC :/
