Has anybody tried side loading Doom? I know there are several android ports available but I haven't tried any yet. Was wondering if anybody else got one working before I bother testing them. I already have a console version of Doom but I would still love to see this on Ouya with custom Wad support.

I have not tried it yet, but on my list is to try Doom using RetroArch for Android (side loaded). Perhaps someone else will beat me to the test.
I sideloaded doomgles the first day I got it and got a black screen.
I tried side loading PrBoom. https://code.google.com/p/prboom4android/downloads/list it will download FreeDoom.wad for you which is nice. Anyways, it works but the controls need to be remapped and I'm not sure how to do that at the moment, the analog will turn but I can't walk forward and I'm sure there are other buttons that are missing too.
Whilst it won't offer you the Wad support you wish for, have you considered the PSX version through an emu? It had a load of extra levels and a few enhancements over the original PC release.

I can confirm that the PSX version runs great on Fpse.
