Air vent not actually doing anything?

Hey guys, so its what the title says, when i pick up the OUYA i cant feel any air coming out and its not like its keep the processor cool because the case gets hot. is this to do with the fan pointing sideways and not down? was thinking about making/getting a a custom case where the fan and motherboard are facing down with some air vents underneath, or maybe an even bigger fan.

    whats yours thoughts?

    Jack

The vent placement is not the best. There are vents on the top but the ones on the bottom get blocked causing it to overheat. I played it with the console on it's side and there was no overheating but I don't want to do that all the time.

Was your fan going at the time? This thing doesn't have (nor need) an always on fan, so you'll only feel air going out of there while the fan is active.

I really don't get why they put vents in the bottom of the case. I think they should've been on the sides.

Did anybody take basic physics in high school?

There are vents on the bottom and the top.

    One word: Convection

Could they have done better? Sure, but on such a basic device this seems to be the most cost effective.

For some reason I don't think people have noticed the eight (8) long rectangular vent holes on the top of the thing... In which case, I'll gladly excuse the confusion.

Wow, thank you for your leniency, sir. Please don't fail me. There was no need to get so superior, the OP asked a valid question in a friendly manner. And what is up with "eight (8)"? Are you writing a legal document? You think no one knows what "eight" means, and you had to clarify? Man... turn the smug down a notch.

I think part of the problem is the direction that the fan is oriented.
If it could be made to blow up instead of sideways then cool air would be drawn into the bottom and expelled out the top.

Mine is expected soon and I look forward to looking into this.
