Well that's the thing because it was still not even released. The OUYA's potential wasn't even scratched upon and people just flap their gums anyways. If it wasn't the center of everything in my life, I would totally leave the internet because of idiots like them.

Unfortunately, first impressions count, and some reviewers have formed them based on the early experiences as a kickstarter backer.

OUYA makes for an easy target as well since proportionately, being a new player into the market, it doesn't have any existing fan-base to piss off. Plus if reviewers go on the net and find a whole bunch of people angrily ranting about it, then they think "hey, instant audience shouting loudly and looking for validation of their pre-existing views"

As well, reviewers can only really talk about what is put in front of them. A lot of the potential of OUYA, that which for many makes it so interesting, has not yet been achieved. No companies have really done any marketing about what the best games on the OUYA are or why their game is so great, so it ends up very hit and miss which games they end up reviewing

Those people who have zero intelligence and have bought into broken reviews; only to encourage a bad outlook on OUYA from those said broken reviews can go straight to hell. No detours, no rest stops, but straight to hell. If you can't make a legitimate argument with a honest review, then don't make one. What they should of done is either shut their mouths and not of made one in the first place, or hold on to the OUYA until it's vastly improved. When it was mostly un-shipped, there wasn't anything to market.

All I'm saying his that you need to decide for yourself if something is right for you. Not go off some half assed, monkey typed review that they have no idea what they're talking about because what they're reviewing isn't even released yet. It's in the past now, but it certainly speaks for the majority of information we get on the world wide web. And the majority of idiots I purposely avoid as well.

As off-topic as this is, I'll answer it. If you're talking about a medium type voting bar that meets in the middle like on Youtube... I don't know why people can't decide for themselves with percentages.

Good idea about adding a game review section. I don't think there is a way on the forums to automatically let people score a game and then give an average score for everyone who played it. Will have to talk it through with the other moderators, since we already have a partnership with a couple of sites and youtubers doing reviews for the OUYA

Thing is, it's fairly clear everyone in the tech and gaming press has made up their mind about the OUYA already. Journalists have their opinions, and editorially, there is nothing really riding on a website giving a review one way or another for the OUYA, so they can go whichever way they want. If you look back at the websites that have covered OUYA's progress, you'll see a couple have been won around, but most start from the "It's easier to doomsay and then go 'I told you so' than give it a chance and be proved wrong", and just keep getting more and more wound up about how it's not doing things the way they are "supposed" to be done. You can check the personal twitter feeds of the journalists and the people they follow, read their articles, which in turn reflects back on what they think about it (for example, I have @britishgaming in my twitter feed, and he has been very negative on the OUYA from day one, with things like "it sucks LOL". He writes for pocketgamer.biz)

Goes to show that people really do need to think for themselves. Even though it shouldn't, people buy into subjective matters like these and they could be potentially losing out on great things. Their loss I guess. I'll check out that BritishGaming-dude, as I think he'll be of interest to me when I might make myself a twitter account...

I know it sounds crazy but, I sometimes feel as if there's some sort of conspiracy when it comes to software or hardware that's "open". I mean, we are all aware of the potential for something like the OUYA. Even those dick head tech journalist can't be so dense to not be able to see the possibilities for something like this. If there were more support for OUYA instead of unnecessary hate maybe OUYA could actually reach that untapped potential sooner rather than later(if at all). I kinda feel like people are brainwashed and programmed to usher hate towards anything and everything that's not branded by a billion dollar corporation. Sad.

Honestly, I think we all get that feeling. With the constant tidal waves of oppressive comments that things receive; it's normal to think like that. I personally think it's just idiots in charge but that's just my opinion.

You're correct with that last sentence. Anything that isn't a big named company like Apple or Nintendo gets sold down the river because they don't have a name for themselves. It's counterproductive because the harm you're doing to those companies with word of mouth isn't going to give them a easier chance to get that said name.

There's also a very negative article in the german IT magazine "c't". They address a lot of issues that have already been fixed by now, also that issue with the purchase confirmation that is not visible because of the color scheme, so they even bash it and say it's harmful because of credit card fraud etc, it's really a bit unfair but on the other hand, maybe they really did not know that this unit they reviewed was NOT a final version...
