"Ok, the german customs in Cologne and Erlangen are holding the OUYA back because of missing CE sign on the controllers. The german customs in Essen is holding the OUYA back because of missing HDMI License. All germans customs are informed to hold back all OUYAs from now on."

Seems like the OUYA Team messed up big time. fortunately mine got through the customs some weeks ago.
Mine have CE signs. It is on the inside of the plate, and if they say "blabla not visible": welcome to germany where a sticker on the wrong side that says nothing but "hey i promise it is good tech" can keep people busy.Originally Posted by Pat1986

I think so! That is the problem
well, on my xbox controller its inside the battery shaft...so it's not the problem. i guess the guys at the customs are just lazy clerks.
HDMI can be licensed to amd, but the device as a whole and maker/facyory must be licensed and pay for every device.
Cost is $10,000 usd every year and a $0.15-7 on every device manufactured.
sure hope ouya has paid its due if not a s-storm will rain down and goods will be distroyed afaik in usa.
How would the customs people know whether or not OUYA licensed HDMI? The HDMI license doesn't require the logo to appear on licensed devices (though you get a royalty discount for doing so)
I would think this burden is on NVidia's end anyway, because it's the Tegra 3 itself that supports HDMI-out. The only thing OUYA team did was let you hook up a cable.
Or is AMD wanting a royalty on *devices*, not chipsets? Because presumably NVidia is already paying a royalty to include HDMI support, but maybe OUYA has to pay AMD as well just for using the feature that NVidia already payed to include?

this is from hdmi group. yes the hdmi plug and cpu/gpu have paid but to make the device as a whole must also pay its dues.
Im no stranger to this and have lost goods from china. lucky it was only 500 pcs and hdmi corp did not contact us or we would have had hell to pay.
Oh no... I think here in Austria we have the same problem. Mine has disappeared somewhere at customs. Can someone else check it too? Some Austrians here?
