To get your box art back, you'll need to go into the advanced settings of the OUYA > apps > fpse > clear data. When you restart fpse again, make sure to select Easy menu (or something like that) WARNING!!! This will also delete your savestates and all configured settings! Your Memory Cards *SHOULD* be saved. I did this just 30 minutes ago and it worked for me. As far as I can tell, there is no way to toggle between the easy menu and the advanced, but I may be wrong.
As for broken key configurations, what is still broken? Do you mean the remapping of the start/select? Everything works perfect for me in default with the newest update and I had MAJOR issues when I first tried it months ago. As stated above, start is mapped to touchpad+R1 and select should be mapped to touchpad+L1 (although I have not tested select) and works rather flawlessly. I actually was so impressed by my experience today that I purchased the app, which I had refused to do when it first came out due to the poor bugs. Sure there are still a few problems with settings saving, especially when you enable openGL, but I think it's the only PS1 emu (at least on android) that uses that, and the ONLY officially supported one on OUYA, so it's a bonus to have these settings. if they've improved this much since release, I can only imagine what will happen in another 5 months!
Running a game in default settings gives you an almost identical experience as playing it on the original PSX and that's good enough for me!
