I've got a Kickstarter unit and I'm pretty sure those are pre-rooted. The controller works just fine - although I do use L3 and R3 for Select and Start instead of for their intended purpose - doesn't hurt 99.9% of games anyway. I didn't have to apply any mods - I just uploaded the APK to my OUYA via the new Upload feature and it worked perfectly after mapping the pad and nixing the OSD. You can even grab GameShark codes in real-time off the web and apply them as you play.

For some reason the games are going fast in FPSE. I tried to restart to default settings in the emulator but it still does it.

I just bought ePSXe off the play store. Everything works except that I can't get it to find the isos on my usb HDD. Bios is fine. How do I get it to find the isos? I dont see an option to manually set the directory...

I have had my Ouya for a few months and love it, but I still can't figure out "sideloading." I've gone through tons of related topics and posts in this forum and others on the net, and still can't figure it out. I've watched several Youtube vids on it, and still don't get it. I notice someone mentioned the new "upload apk" feature on Ouya and I followed all the instructions, entered the url number and got something like "drag and drop apks here" but I still don't get it. I think my main problem in understanding this is, where exactly does one FIND the actual Ouya compatible apk files to drag, drop and install? I've googled this, yahooed it, youtubed it. Just get runarounds, year old posts and links, but no real answers. I don't know if someone could point me in the right direction on this or post some links. I'd like to try the other PS1 emulator but to just say you sideloaded this and it works great, well, where exactly do you find these files to sideload? One thing I should mention is that I am disabled with very bad eyesight so it's very difficult for me to sift through pages and pages of forum topics and posts. I just wish someone could let me know where I could find all these apk files to d/l or sideload to my Ouya. I consider myself pretty computer literate (been using them since 1982), but sideloading apk files to my Ouya is really a mystery to me. I'll shut up now...

Does anyone know if this developer intends to update this emulator for Ouya? I think it has a lot of potential but there are a number of extremely frustrating bugs that keep it from greatness imho, not least of all it not saving settings. This makes experimentation incredibly hard and unrewarding, as it is impossible to make changes and observe the effects of them. When it does run well, it can be really impressive, but for the most part I feel like it's a pointless effort trying to use it.

To be honest if I'd known it would be this obtuse I would not have bought this emulator, and for the most part I have to use Retroarch with PCSX Rearmed to get anything working. The nags really put me off buying it but against my gut feeling I decided to put the money down. Looking on the devs website it seems there's little mention of Ouya and more focus on Android. Poor form.

Get epsxe for android instead and sideload it. works like a charm on OUYA and emulates most games perfectly.

I don't know how to do that! Tried Googling etc, but so hard to find info and there's no tutorials. I have the Android version, but dunno how I'd go about getting that onto the Ouya. They should release a dedicated Ouya version!

There are ways and means i can't tell you here...
I asked the devs to bring it to Ouya, but they declined as there were some problems for european devs regarding something...but i cant remember anymore.
maybe you should ask them also to bring back their interest
