I'm all about free speech but most of the hate feels like its from people going

"Huh! Look! Mah PS/360 does all of this, Ouya iz lame, for the looserz"

It's that mentality that makes me want to take a metal cased tablet and slap some heads! I just don't understand why some people hate this console so much. It's almost like Ouya kicked their pets or killed their first born. It's frustrating that some gamers are so brainwashed by Sony Nintendo and Microsoft. I love Nintendo but even I can understand that they don't have my interest in mind. -I just don't get why people are so afraid to allow new players to enter the hardware game.

I hear everything you're saying, and on a personal note, I really do agree with you. But the problem is, telling people "stop" usually makes a loud faction (often the stupid faction) louder. Especially if said group is looking to get a reaction. Let them be stupid, loud, and obnoxious. The moderators will moderate, and the adults will be left to talk when the children are put in time-out.

It's true that most of the negative responses are from people who have fundamentally unrealistic expectations. They were expecting some magic box to sprout fully-formed right in their living room and do all manner of reality-defying things. Beyond explaining to these people that they need to realign themselves with the real world, what can you do? Haters gonna hate.

Agreed. People need to get knocked back into reality and realize that nothing will ever be perfect. Humans certainly aren't so why do you expect them to make a perfect product based on their imperfect logic? I'm not going to get scientific or religious on the people here, but when I see threads that start out perfectly fine and then two people start to argue, which in-turn makes up two-three pages of that said thread. That's where I think a line should be drawn, and have them continue it in private message.

Regardless if it's on-topic or not, it serves no purpose other than to pound your opinion into your opponent's brain. Another thing I particularly dislike about situations like this is how much farther the two parties get away from their original goal. So what's the point? Ugh, I couldn't tell you. Personally some guidelines need to be in order when the June release rolls around so we can have a non-flooded forum. Of course, make it so people still have free-speech. Just not stupid speeches.

Like Pr0nSyrup said. I hate people complaining about the complaining but the only way you'll lose to them is getting sucked in.

Totally agree with you dude. This is not some huge company where everyone involved has loads of experience in the games industry (let alone making a console from scratch). What has been achieved so far is amazing and the ouya kickstarter fund became the second largest successfully completed Kickstarter project so far! It has now been backed by some pretty big names in the game industry including support from nvidia themselves who helped to optimize the tegra 3 chip, and the guys over at XBMC which means we will get an official XBMC release for the ouya.

The whole idea behind developer friendly games development with little restrictions is something which is desperately needed especially with companies like MS/Sony/EA all basically buying up popular games development companies only to take all the profits and rights to the titles. They are also making it increasingly difficult for smaller titles and startup's to succeed as well as raping gamers for more and more money through subscriptions, DLC, and increasing games prices and taking away their rights for the content they paid for and "own".

Whats more you are free to do what you like with the ouya, open it up, hack it, root it, change the software etc without worrying about getting sued and Its built ontop of an open source platform and kept open source. there's never been a console like this in history with so much backing that i know of and all for only $100. You can use it for gaming, emulators, turn it into a web/email/ftp server or use it as a media centre. Quite a few apps/games already work from the play store without any modification too and if really don't like the official controller you can even use your ps3 or 360 controllers! Really what more can you ask for, to me this is an amazing project and ive only used it for XBMC mainly (with 1080p playback) including playing a few games such as Dubwars and Chrono Blade which are pretty fun btw

My Ouya has been living in my house for a couple of weeks now and it hasn't washed the dishes once.

I think once you root it and install Google play you can sideload an app that will pair with your PS3 controller and make the controller do your dishes. If you're not sure how to do this, ask for help every day here and at xda until someone gets frustrated and shows up at you house and just does the dishes for you.

Meh, better than being passive-agressive. Plus, when did I ever try to send a "right" message?
