The largest problem is that we have no rules... Well... No rules set in stone at least. Even though I am a mod, I have no idea how to handle things aside from duplicate posts and such because I have no idea what is allowed and what is not allowed on these forums. I am sure others feel the same way. With that said, I have honestly decided to step down as moderator because I do feel that I am not contributing enough to the forums. It is my wish to transfer my mod powers to Riot because she actually does an amazing job with keeping up with not only the forums (pretty much every report we get is by her) but also the ouya community as a whole.
So yea, I want to step down as mod and give my powers to Riot. Can you handle that Eddie?
I never thought I'd get such a bold, honest, and public confession like this. I wish it was someone else who said this as you're one of the better ones. I report posts when I can't find BronerGames around and because he helps me so much. You guys get as little as you do because of him and he's the one you should be thanking.
If I had to keep the moderators...
BronerGames
CaptainCapslock (Forgot about him)
Jawdy
JCPRuckus
jonbonazza (I guess this doesn't apply anymore...)
T3KN0GH057 (Forgot about him)
And demote...
Ayrik
d_brennen
HellRa1SeR
Interfreak
Jack_Mcslay
SamJ
sandmanfvr
wizzdingo
If they accept, Promote...
Pr0nSyrup
airman
Bagheadinc. (He'd prefer a chatbox that has it's own operators.)
o Meltdown o/ Flowzilla
BronerGames (To admin)
And I guess... myself.
@JCPRuckus: Understood but putting it in perspective. It's even more pathetic that you're more worthy of your status than the others.

Hey guys, thought I'd chime in, since afterall I am the admin here
I agree, that a large part of our staff has been inactive. I informed them all when I appointed them that I would be reviewing their activity, etc and could demote them if they don't remain active. That is still what I plan to do. In the next week or so I will be reviewing this more carefully and communicating with some of our team.
As far as rules go, this is something I feel is needed before the June 25th OUYA Launch. We have a pretty good idea of where we are going, and I don't think that general rules that can be modified as we go will be hard to come up with.

Like I said before, one of the main problems is that you hired members who were active "at the time". Another thing is promoting people you know from previous forums. Well that's fine and dandy but when they have their personal lives blow up in their face. That's the same reason why it wouldn't work. I'm starting this new job next Thursday and I'm going to be a lot busier myself in the upcoming days.
Again, I'm not blaming them for having a life, but I can't exactly let the fact go that it seems they aren't even going out of their way to be on here and contribute. It take two minutes for me to sign in and another two to make a single post. I actually question whether or not they're even following the OUYA scene, let alone the forum.
You created this forum in July. Why couldn't there have been the most basic copy and paste "Rules" thread in the huge amount of time?

I think (if it's not already done), there needs to be an updated rules/guide/whatever to the forum. It ought to be a super sticky (perhaps appear outside of the forum listing) of the rules so everyone can read it and understand it. It also helps the mods know what to do and can help them make a decision once a situation occurs.
I was once a hardware reviewer for a site, and it had a pretty detailed set of rules. The mods knew what to do and they took care of it. If something was questionable, they'd look at the rules to make their decision.
Backer #276, Standard Edition + 1 Extra controller.
5/13 - Delivered, replacement controller received 5/24
May try to get oddball controller replaced (good analog, bad faceplate)
One other thing, which might be one of the least things to worry about right now. Ive seen mods/admins alter or delete a post, just to see someone change it back or undelete. And then another mod come back around for the third time and end up doing the exact thing the first mod did or make a completely different change.
I certainly don't think a mod/admin would change or delete a post just "because" So if any one mod/admin has decided to alter something. I don't think someone else should be overriding their decision.
I think the way mods handle post is direct reflection of the community feelings at large spread between extreme like to extreme dislike. Mods should be above all of this but with the absence of rule/guidelines they are just members with veto powers that are subjected to which side of the bed they got up on that day to if some other member stepped on their toes at one point or another or flattered them. Just an observation.

Nothing right in my left brain, Nothing left in my right brain.

Ruckus told me he doesn't like to read negative things about the ouya and IM writing to much negative. He said he doesn't know how to not make it sound like a threat but IM on his radar and the fact that IM on his radar should be nuff said.
It was clearly a threat, a act of censorship. I frequent a lot of different forums and through my own personal dealings have never dealt with a more unprofessional mod ever. Mods are supposed to be impartial not dictate the conversations.
Ha ha ha... Way to mischaracterize the conversation. It really is impossible to be reasonable with you. I stand behind the message I sent you. If Eddie would like a copy to review, I'll gladly send it to him. I guess I was just spoiled by my first interaction as a Mod being with RiotingSpectre. It made me think that everyone could be reasoned with on a personal level if you just tried.
If I wanted to censor you, I could just do it. But I'm the Mod most likely to say, "I don't really think that's a problem," or, "A ban is a little much, just try sending them a PM instead and see if they straighten out". So I figure I should practice what I preach. There's more than one person on that staff list who would have been begging to ban you the second you questioned their authority. So thanks for proving my comparatively liberal way of conducting business to be far too nice.
