    mine from Amazon:

    Awesome little device!

When I mean little, I mean LITTLE. The device is absolutely puny, but it boasts great power. Bought it straight from Amazon.ca with an extra controller and have been quite impressed by it. The controls are responsive from what I have played so far, I haven't experienced any controller lag. There was in-game controller lag once, but that was resolved once I seen that an app didn't close properly..which rarely happens for me.

I have issues on start up with Wifi, but that was resolved after a firmware update and a reboot. After that haven't had a single issue with disconnection from the internet.

The games are great as well, ranging from Slot machine games (a great way to feed anyone's gambling) to RPGs like Final Fantasy III and Bard's Tale, to Third Person Shooters like Shadowgun.

Overall a great device and I love it to bits. I am very glad that I made this purchase!

    Aww the OUYA...

First off my expectations for it were very low and as the reviews for it came in they got lower and lower... and I understand why.

I was surprised to get my OUYA and see the box covered in games suggesting it is a great gaming box. It simply isn't.

There are a bunch of retread, old, poorly mapped, unoptimized games... The selection of *new* games is frankly embarrassing and practically non-existant.

The saving grace for me are the emulators and XBMC. There is a ton of fun to be found in the 'retro' gaming area. It requires some extra work... but it can be pretty rewarding.

The main reason I picked up an OUYA however was to stream media and take advantage of its HDMI out... XBMC is pretty awesome, even with the awkward, unoptimized controls.

So the OUYA is a mixed bag. I wonder how long OUYA staff will continue to update the software. I hope for awhile, it needs a lot of love. The controller is okay. It does feel cheap, especially the trigger buttons. The trackpad seems like a necessary afterthought and there is no reference point whatsoever when you are using it...

If you have a specific intention to use the OUYA for it can be a great little device... if you expect great gaming save your money and get a proper console.

I received my OUYA on June 25th and if the score I had to give was out of 10, I would give the OUYA a 9/10.

Basically I love my OUYA. From the many indie games they give you and the easy to use UI its worth 99$. People want online and so many other amazing features at launch but the truth is that's not happening. Give it a while, im sure the OUYA team is working hard and putting time into a great online system.

I will have to say though about sideloading is that its a huge mess. Ive been struggling just to put a few android game on the OUYA. Games like Shadowgun Deadzone and Modern Combat should work fine and would even be better with controller support which OUYA gives. I sideloaded Riptide GP and the game crashes more than it should which is a big problem because the game looks amazing and is very playable. Dont say a console is open when I cant sideload what I really want.

Last thing is that OUYA need more android game ported over. The games that use a controller like Dead Trigger. I get that we got Shadowgun the game but Dead Trigger would also have been nice to play.

Overall Im still very pleased with my OUYA. I already know it will get better.

    Brand New Ouya Owner Opinion

Let me say I am excited for Ouya and am happy with my purchase, however, I have come up with a list of changes I would like to see implemented in future builds. As being a new owner, and having the system for less than 24 hours, these are the problems areas that come to mind immediately.

    1. Videos in Game Descriptions, pictures are not enough
    2. Price of the game after the trial expires
    3. The type of trial the game has (bombsquad = 1 hour of play, towerfall = limited features)
    4. The Discover UI looks like that of netflix, needs major refinement.

    Thanks for reading!

Had my OUYA about a month now and really is better than I expected.

    As a gamer:

The controller is far better than I expected, I haven't had sticky button issues, the thumb sticks are tight and is a good size and weight.
Battery life has seemed pretty good too. I do keep going to press the start button which isn't there though

Honestly prefer it to the PS3 controller, (I can't stand the thumbsticks or trigger buttons on PS pads)

I love the way the system promotes exploration and experimentation. You can waste hours dipping into the marketplace downloading 15 games and just trying new experiences. So far it's the closest I've seen to the youtube of gaming.

For a while now I have been gravitating to the smaller, more interesting games. 90% of the games I played before OUYA were PSN or XBLA games.
So this feel like an extension of that.

    As a developer:
Sales have been kinda poor, as I expected, but that's OK, all my games are made on a budget of 0 and is more of a passionate hobby for me.
The most important thing for me has been the amazing responses I've had from my games (Pester and Super Killer Hornet), I've had lots of positive comments, pics and vids uploaded of their highest scores, reviews tweets...etc. It feels like a really great community already.

I'm just really happy I've got a place where I can put my stuff and for free!

It's also been awesome to develop for, managed to port both games (with major updates) in about two weeks. The review process is amazing and painless, both games passed review in 24 hours. On xblig it took over a week.

The only problem I can see is, with such an emphasis on free games, conversion rates and revenue may remain a little low and in turn bigger indie devs maybe put off. I really hope they're not but I understand that for most devs the money side is really important, for many it's the only way they put food on the table.

Basically I love it, it feels like the cute little box was tailor made for me, as a developer and a gamer it's just great.
Come to the OUYA with an open mind and a hunger for fun, interesting games and you'll love it. Come to the OUYA expecting a PS4 rival then you're an idiot.

I bought it strictly for one thing... emulation. (Personally dont own a computer so this was a no brainer)

I think if people looked it as a console that can play the majority of the emulators for free on a big screen, that in itself will sell the product. But since the company is trying to push the innovation aspect (and to be quite honest its a bit disappointing in that aspect) while still in its infant stages... well its not going to be as good of a marketing campaign as initially thought. $100 for emulators and nearly any game I want? Yes please.

The controller isnt as bad as people make it out to be, the sticks on the controller are great. The Dpad can definitely be better but overall the product is fine.

I havent been dealing with some of the issues other users have been dealing with so im thankful for that.

All I see on the horizon is potential for the Ouya. Maybe there will actually be some indie games that are good enough to garner attention to the mainstream crowd but as of right now I dont see anything to do that with. The regular consoles do that better.
