Considering cancelling my Ouya pre order. Any hope?

I have an xbox 360. I play some of the indie games on that system and it seems 90% of those games are just trash. I know these developers are on a low budget but it's no fun to play a bad game with 1980's like graphics.

How many developers are really putting in big effort to put better quality games on the ouya? I'm not expecting console quality but there should be some good games with the systems capabilities. In the end, software is going to make or break the ouya. Are the ouya games the same kind of trash I play on xbla?

Why were you backing it in the first place? Now's the time to remember that and worry less about what's available in the store now. Devs have had their Ouyas for a few months so games on the system will mostly be ports and experiments. There's gonna be a lot of low end stuff to wade through to find the gems but if you enjoy the hunt and indie creativity in general like I do I suggest ya stick around.
Check out sites like Newgrounds that don't have a barrier to entry. Lots of people trying new things every day!
It's not all fantastic stuff so if you're looking for a list of games someone else has picked out for you then maybe stick with your other consoles.
I'm gonna have some fun exploring the sandbox when I get my Ouya. I hope to see you there.

Your not expecting console quality, but you also appear to not be giving anyone time to put anything worthy out. The game store isnt blowing me away either but i have found some real fun games to buy.

But as the other poster said the consoles have been in devs hands for a few months. It sometime takes years to put out a game. My company is planning a rather big game but no way we will be releasing it anytime soon. 2014 if we are lucky...

Overall this console is for indie devs, seems like you are expecting AAA quality yet saying ur not expecting AAA quality...gotta give devs some time.

I'm sure there will be some decent looking games but I can assure you that the majority will be pixelated or ugly. Even in the PC world most indie games are pixelated. But I think that gameplay is bigger than graphics. Every now and then I like to pull out my cellphone and play Pokemon Yellow or Zelda. Why? Because of the gameplay.

Don't forget, all these games are free to try, so if you don't like one you're not out any money. Indie does not automatically equal bad, but you will have to wade through some bad titles to find the ones you like. Speaking of pixelated, one of my all time favorite games is Adventure on the Atari 2600. Very pixelated, but enjoyable.

That phrase "console quality" is very relative. OP, you need to give things some time. At most you will see native Ouya games that are on the graphical level of the Wii (maybe slightly better). If you want AAA games, I shall advise you to use OnLive on your Ouya. That's where you will see your PS/360 style games. I'm getting my Ouya for two reasons. 1) I'm making a game for it. 2) I want to replace my Onlive console with a console that can do more things as well as use the Onlive service. You have to have realistic expectations and hope for the best. In the Ouya's case, I hope the developers will see the potential of a open console such as this and not chicken out in the same vein as developers on Wii. There IS a place for low end consoles in the industry and I hope this console proves it further (than what the Wii already built).

Hey you, judge a game for its graphics is like judge porn for its history.

I believe OUYA are planning on sending out consoles to reviewers and press some time in early May. I also expect around the same time for a whole bunch of announcements to come out about games that will either be on the OUYA for launch, or are in development.

Unless you really need your $99 back now, you might as well wait till May when there will be a more definitive picture of what you're going to be getting. Equally, if you ordered after Feb 4th, you won't be getting your order until June 4th anyway, so you could cancel the order, buy a couple of other xbox games in the meantime, then if you like the look of the OUYA, place a fresh pre-order and still get it on the same day as you otherwise would. The only thing you'd have to work out is whether there are any cancellation fees or fees that don't get refunded, but if not, then you have some options

Why, exactly, do you expect this? What indication do you have that this is a thing that is happening?

You cannot spend a large amount of money to create titles for a console with ~100k install base. You will lose money. These games are not coming.
