It all depends on how much space you have in your room. That would be an option if your monitor doesn't have audio out (all 3 of mine do). Another option would be to hit some pawn shops. For the same price as that switch, you can typically get a home theater receiver. This would let you switch between multiple HDMI sources, output the sound to your computer speakers or hook up any speakers you have laying around, and sound a heck of a lot better than the bargain basement DAC that's going to be found in the switch. Of course, HT receivers are large and bulky and create clutter for those who don't want/need the features. Also, if you're not experienced in shopping at pawn shops, always ask for their best price because the sticker price is usually for suckers.
