Again, you're assuming that every backer is upset about this. But that aside, $8.5M isn't what they got. Kickstarter took a chunk of that.
Still, I'm sure if you asked, she would probably include the $0.75 interest.

They have split the community into two camps which that isn't good as both camps are attacking other. Look at that chart which will slip again imo. Some early backers will only get there ouya a week before retail. Wonder how that will play out?

Oh yeah the sub 1% loan. Lmfao please stop you're making yourself look like a young fan boy. Even a 2% loan would be about $2. Where can you borrow $130 for 9 months for $.75 without it being some promo for the less fortunate?

I have to agree with OP: please stop whining so much. Does it make the situation any better by wasting lots of (negative) energy on being furious about a product delay? No, not at all.
I used to go on to this board daily and read every single post to take part in the excitement and nice community, but now I only come here once or twice per week. The negativity really makes this place a lot less appealing.

A fanboy generally means a lack of objectivity, so I'm not sure that term means what you think it does. But I'd like to point out that the 18 posts you've provided so far don't vary much beyond exactly what the OP is talking about here.

At any rate, I don't think it's necessary to resort to name calling simply because someone disagrees with your opinion.

I was merely stating the amount of interest they probably earned on your money, and I'm sure they'd gladly return it. There are risks involved with making an investment like this, and your personal contribution is a fraction of 1% of the total.

Think about it.. You made a $99+ pledge to a company without a website, or real history of any sort of product. And NOW you're complaining that you made a bad decision because the date you'll get the unit in your hands may slip by a month? Are you serious?

If the only loss you'll suffer is a couple weeks, or even a month longer than intended before you can play with your new toy, you're getting by pretty unscathed all things considered. They could have burnt through the money without producing a damn thing and moved to Mexico.

Dates slip. It happens EVERYWHERE. All the time. Less often then things usually ship on time, quite honestly.

Why is it such a surprise that a tiny start-up with first time CEO in California going to Kickstarter to get their funds would be any different or better than any other company out there?

You seem intelligent. It's all about perspective and giving proper weight to the situation. Surely you can grasp that.

I would like to apologize if you think I am calling you names. I have seen before someone saying you seem like ouya PR so I said you are making yourself look like so you would know why people think that. If I thought you were a straight up fan boy I would have just called you that. Again IM sorry.

Thing is though at first they said march delivery and now they are saying maybe the end of May, that's already 2 months behind if everything goes perfect. Seems with ouya nothing goes perfect so that 2 months might turn to 4. Mobile technology ages fast these days

BTW Artic are you saying that we can only talk about positive things involving the OUYA in these forums? Or only things you agree with? Is there a list of what we can or can't talk about or how many times we can say things? These rules must be like OUYAs shipping updates, you have to figure it out yourself I guess.

I think everyone should take a deep breath and realize this is the real world, and that the reality of it is it's still relatively on schedule... I agree with the other posters who say people are killing the positive vibe. I came here to talk to other people about this new idea and to get excited about it, but you're all keeping me away for sure.

In several months you'll forget about this like most people do and all you've done is waste people's time. It's not as if they're sitting on their asses, and to think, someone actually made a functioning console via crowd-sourcing and got it done in a year. If it were me, the ones who are doing the "sky is falling" routine 2 weeks into April, I would've taken it upon myself (if I could put two and two together) to make them wait longer.
No appreciation for what has been accomplished, it's all about "Me" "Me" "Me".

Begin personal backlash vs me in 1... 2...

I just wonder what it is about peoples egos that force them to go into message boards and tell them that they are thinking or feeling the wrong way. People must feel like they have everything figured out if they think that anyone who has a different view, feeling or thought are wrong because they don't have see it the same as them.

If you want to highlight or debate why ouya is doing good or bad that great. If you want to tell other people that they need to agree with you that's sad. What would this forum be if everyone said the same thing over and over.

Re: Please stop whining about Ouya shipments!

I think most of the hostility stems from backers who believe they have been left out of the loop. The 28th march has come and gone two weeks ago and 99% of backers haven't heard anything about when they will be receiving their ouya.

I think I went into backing the ouya with the right attitude. I saw it as a risk and only pledged money I could afford to loss/waist. I can fully understand why people are getting annoyed with all the negativity - the progress the ouya team have made is awesome - and the gamble we made at the start has paid off. We will get our ouya!

However, I believe some if the information that has been coming from ouya recently, if not technically lies, is at least dishonest.

I dont think its right that they said they started shipping in march when they only seemed to send out around 100. They said all ouyas would be sent out in "several weeks" but after 2 weeks they have only sent around 600. Technically correct but dishonest.

I also think its valid that backers are annoyed that they may only be getting their ouyas a few weeks before retail. Backers take a risk, it isn't the same as buying something. It will be interesting if the backer ouyas are covered by any kind of warranty for example?

Anyway, I will try and stop moaning. However, checking for a shipping confirmation email everyday from now until june is bound to take its toll.
