You can already do that, but: phones that have simikar specs cost more than OUYA and you need to buy the controller for them, the setup is really awkward and most likely will require you to use the touchscreen often on a phone that is far from you and mangled in cables. And last thing: there are really only a few games on Google Play that properly support controllers and I wouldn't expect that to change quickly because of the incompatibilities between different controllers.

just curious... how does the refund process work?

call Credit Card company and cancel? but that's like many months back...
RT @juhrman @BTYee29 btw bc it is a Kickstarter unit you need to reject charge from credit card co first then we can refund. We can't start process.

what i mean is... i'd be happier if it din require credit card to try out games... just like how its done with google play. you dun need a credit card to download games but you will need one when you wanna download paid apps...

It may cost more but you are getting a phone too. The OUYA framework and launcher can be loaded on to standard Android 4.1.2. Games can be sideloaded so if this gains popularity, we should start seeing more game supporting it - you can already find games in the Play store that supports controllers.

I'm not sure if it's just the version of the firmware I have, or if it's the development box.. But I have never had to enter a credit card number and I have tried out a lot of games.

According to Jon Abrams at OUYA:
"The way it's supposed to work is that when you try to make a purchase, and it fails, a dialog appears asking if you want to enter your credit card info........
.....So attempt to make a purchase in that game to be prompted for your credit card, then after it's entered you should be able to do future purchases."

interesting... i recall an update in KickStarter that said CC was required to download games... and i know that caused a lot of people to be upset. myself included. but if you say there's no need to enter CC details now... i think this is great!

i've never had to enter a card number yet, probably probably will be soon. Some of these games are definitely worth a buy when I have more time to play them.
