Exclamation Please stop whining about Ouya shipments!

    1. You will receive your Ouya.
    2. You will receive your Ouya!
    3. See points one and two.

Look... Ouya was/is a small start-up that got a huge bump via Kickstarter. They're experiencing growing pains right now, mainly do to the incredible number of orders received by backers, but also because they are looking forward to the retail launch. I guarantee there isn't a person on the Ouya team who is sleeping well these days.

Julie said that the consoles would start shipping on March 28th, and truth be told, they did; just not at the rate everyone was expecting.

The Kickstarter project I backed before the Ouya was also created by a small start-up. Their product was also made in China. They also had major distribution issues to overcome, one of which was U.S. Customs. That product took over a year get delivered to me, but I got it, and it works. Oh.. and their Kickstarter updates were few and far between. Talk about pissed off donators.

So PLEASE!!!! Take a breath, and realize that you will have your Ouya soon enough.

First you can't count your chickens before they hatch. If they are putting some focus on the retail launch and not 100% focused on the sales that they already have they are in for a disaster. If I hadn't already backed I wouldn't want to go out at retail launch and give OUYA my money. If a company feels like the chance of future sales are more important than consumers that want to be loyal to you then I want no part of that.

Ouya is technology, technology ages fast. You have no clue that "that you will have your Ouya soon enough", we have no idea if they are telling us 100% the truth or if there will be any kind of unforeseen delays. If the OUYA is delayed over a year like your prior Kickstarter then it will be ancient (it's already getting old) and is not all good.

Also if you have to send out 56,000 consoles and you say your going to start shipping on the 28th and only have sent out 250 consoles 10 days later, you might not want to call that a victory unless you're just trying to be petty and manipulative. OUYA has our $8.5 million plus whatever the preorders add up to and will probably be effected, if people want to complain they have every right. We all paid our money when we said we were going to.

Every company misses dates. It's the nature of the beast, and it's rarely as fatal as you're claiming it will be. If they sell 1M at retail.. or even half of that, losing a few sales of disappointed backers with inflexible expectations isn't going to be the end of the world for them.

I don't want that to come off as harsh or downplaying your disappointment, but not every one of those 56,000 backers is that invested deeply on the delivery date. Some are glad to contribute to the cause of adding another player into the game/console arena to challenge the established ones. Honestly, these are probably their real customers anyway.

Look at the bright side.. If they can't keep up with demand later at retail, you stand to make a lot of money on ebay if you want to part with your console in a couple months.

Edit: I just saw on Twitter that Julie offered to refund someone's money. Those that are very unhappy should maybe consider that. It will get your allocated console to someone else sooner, and you've not lost any money. Everyone wins!

Honestly unless you wanted to hack and mod the ouya ..... there is nothing worth playing on it currently.

I haven't even gotten to try all of the featured games and I'd disagree with you. Fist of Awesome, Gunslugs, Wizorb are a lot of fun. I can't wait for the full game of FOA.

P.S. In case you were curious, you were Kickstarter backer number 5 for OUYA. Thank you for believing.

Thank God for OnLive. Also, hopefully it will be the XBMC media player with hardware acceleration that I have been waiting for. If I can get those I will be happy and can wait for the Gameloft and Tegra quality type games to be developed but, with the way things are going that won't be until OUYA 2 and tegra 4. I really feel for the backers, you have my sympathies. I am a pre-order so I do not expect mine until after the launch date unless they push that back too. Which I doubt because its one thing to disappoint 60,000 individual backers than it is the big retail giants that have the ability to sale 100's of thousands of OUYAs. Maybe I will be proven wrong, it would be great if I were.

Yeah I bet she would like to refund most backers so they could focus on retail and use our $8.5 million as a 9 month unrest free loan. Wow she is so nice

I agree with Op, people just need to relax, go with the flow, you will get it when you get it.
