It's rare that i will bitch about things because as many others have mentioned, life has a way of issuing priorities but the lack of communication about what is going on just astounds me. Estimated time of delivery was supposed to be March, now we are being told May, yet retail launch is in June? Issued by backer number, then by units with single controller? a blog statement that was actually deleted because of backlash from backers who paid more yet no clarification?
Up until now updates have been forthcoming with pictures, game devs on board and the dev units being shipped, SURELY someone could have looked at the calendar and seen that there was a holiday coming up and taken steps to compensate (or say something beforehand?)
Remember, expected delivery was MARCH so if they were aware that not even half of the units would be ready by this time, then I believe they had a responsibility to inform all of the people who were good enough to believe in their promise and at least update them with whatever challenges they were experiencing. Honesty is always the best policy.
I also am a bit disappointed about the extra shipping fee but I've come to expect this sort of crap from American companies towards the rest of the world. If you are an Aussie like me you will know exactly what I mean.
Having said all of that, I wish the damn thing would get here so I can play with it.

Just to add to that, here's an extension of that quote from update #19. Something people seem to always ignore.
OUYAs will begin shipping to Kickstarter backers on March 28...
...Might take a few weeks to get to everyone. We have a lot of OUYAs to ship!
Not true... from the OUYA kickstarter page:
"We're honored by all of you who are backing us -- THANK YOU. We are focused on delivering for you, first come first served. We can only promise OUYA by March to our Kickstarter backers."
And pledges included "Estimated delivery: Mar 2013"
Exactly. Everyone just wants an honest answer. Even when directly pressed for answer, OUYA team refuses to give simple answers. Are LE units shipping? Are units with multiple controllers shipping? HOw many have been produced to date? How many shipped? If they don't know this on at least a daily basis then there are bigger problems then just shoddy controllers and software.
I would just like to have a bit more transparency with regards to the shipping process.
Also, the information that has been passed out about shipping seems to have come from a twitter feed. But not everybody uses twitter, and why should someone who has pledged or pre-ordered have to register on another social networking site just to get information that, in all honesty, should be provided to them directly, either by Kickstarter update or email.
According to the various reports on who shipping is being handled, my Ouya would have been shipped in an early batch either way (low backer number; single controller; not LE). Yet nada... I am patient about the delivery, its the communication (or lack of) that really needs to be looked at and acted upon.
Definitely playing ELITE: DANGERUS before my Ouya arrives...
Yup. That's where i was coming from.
I get that there will be teething problems. I get that delivery will not be some magical teleportation method. I get that sh17 happens.
I get that it's all new to them, but given that everyone here is asking for answers, what I don't get is why we aren't getting them.
