What's up with the draconian moderation on this forum?

I have tried sharing a link to another site with a web storefront twice now and my posts have been deleted. Why is this?

No one will be promoting or linking to another site in the OUYA Web store thread. Already had enough issues with that. If you wish to see released games, you can use our "Released OUYA Games/Apps" folder. It will be updated to include all the information you need, and most of the posts are made by the games' developers.

Thanks for the swift reply, Ed. It's your forum and you can police as you wish obviously, but I find this other site's web "store" quite useful for a couple reasons:

1. Those of us who have yet to receive their OUYA can browse complete with artwork, screen captures and descriptions and get a feel for what we're wanting to check out when our systems finally arrive.

2. It allows direct downloading of APKs, which until OUYA implements an app upgrade feature will be the only way to upgrade a game to the latest version without losing your saved game in the process.

I really just want to share this useful resource with the community especially after all the crap that went on in the other web store thread.

It does seem odd that something that has a use to the OUYA community, isn't allowed to be shared with the OUYA community. This sort of needless censorship is a shame.

The site isn't what it appears and caused a large amount of chaos (which has since been cleaned up) because of that... This particular moderation decision isn't needless, by any means... You'll just have to trust us on this one.

Certainly not needless... especially when we had a tonne of complaints from people where the link was, shall we say, inappropriate!
It's awesome that there's a larger community growing from the OUYA and it's also great that this is happening before the major OUYA launch in June. But there was an interesting battle months ago at the launch of this, and other sites, where we were DDOS'd, spammed and more, so the policing of links and focusing on the OUYAForum community is somewhat of a necessity. Things are just a bit... "nasty" (both before, and more recently with the inappropriate link) at the moment, so erring on the side of caution.

Hi i posted in another part of the forum and it says i have to wait for a mod to approve my post that was yesterday and my post is still not there. All my post had that was "suspicious" is a link to a public facebook picture. Whats happening?
Ps: i also posted twice because the first time i didnt see that I was being moderated and didnt understand why my post wasnt showing

The forum is moderated in this way to reduce spam. Unfortunately mods here sometimes have to sleep/eat/do family stuff so we might not see your restricted post right away

Thanks for your answer, I understand. So everytime we post a link we'll have to wait for moderation isn't it?
