That's a bummer.
Back in the 90s, we used to play the shit out of Scorched Earth in my CAD class.
I didn't post this at first, but seeing as it might benefit some members to know, I will post it here anyway
A couple of days ago, I sent a message to BlitWise and asked them if they were considering porting their famous Pocket Tanks game
for the Ouya. The TL;DR version is, that they are not going to port their games for the Ouya as of right now.
Here is their reply to my message:
Hello Sune,
Thank you for contacting our company. At this time we do not have any plans to port any of our games to the Ouya Platform. We may at some point in the future port to the Ouya.

I'm still hoping they will bring especially Pocket Tanks to the table at some point. But since they're a small company, I guess they'll only do it if they find the time.
Since they have already released the game for Android as well (was initially a PC game - from back in 1997 or something), I still have a small glimpse of hope![]()

It really is a bummer.
If enough people write to them, asking for the game to be released for the Ouya, though, they will probably do it.
Blitwise usually listens to their community.
And yeah, I remember playing Scorched Earth as well. I was just thinking that since Pocket Tanks is already released for Android, there was probably
a higher chance that they would release this game for the Ouya than other of their non-android games.
I was working on a similar game but never had time to finish it (I made similar game a finished a version for Windows 10 years ago so I have the "know how") - it was supposed to be a Scorched Earth clone with some Worms stuff thrown in. I might get back to this idea if there is demand. It will almost certainly not be about tanks, more like sth funny - like wooded catapults or sth like that with humorous creatures and weapons.
I remember a flash game based of this game and it was the shit back then. I don't know what this man is thinkin' ignoring our little Ouya like that but we have to have a game like this.
I am quite certain that there is indeed a demand for such a game.
Please note though, that what made Pocket Tanks great was, that it was not too complicated. Personally, I find Worms World Party to be a great game as well, but it is a tad too complicated (being able to jump, double jump etc.).
That's what I, and a whole lot of other players, liked so much about Pocket Tanks. Yes, it had lots and lots of cool weapons, which you could randomly give to each player before starting the match, or you could chose one at a time
from the same pool of weapons, but once in-game you could only more forward/backward or shoot.
Shooting was simple as well. Chose your weapon, chose your angle, chose your power. And FIRE!
Basically, what made the game awesome was it's simple gameplay and very casual "sit-down-and-play-right-away"-style.
