the tracking number/link doesn't work, this email was 6 days ago... what's up with that?

from the latest email: Your OUYA is on the move. (order 22285)

The following items were included in this shipment:

    1 x Console+1Controller_NA (90E2-0V10010)

    Tracking Number 9261299998430100076623
What everyone needs to realize is that DHL, (as well as UPS), is a USPS "Shipping Partner" that means DHL is only shipping for the Postal Service and you should receive your Ouya by mail.
This is why it's taking so long. Try using the USPS tracker on their website to locate your Ouya.
My Ouya should be delivered today, 5/6 according to the USPS website tracking info. so you should expect your Ouya 10+ days after receiving your "Ouya has shipped e-mail" even if your tracking info isn't updated.
I have often received packages long before the Postal Service has updated their tracking info. it is what you should expect from our postal service.
So hang on if it's shipped give it time and blame the USPS not Ouya!

No email from OUYA, but did get one from DHL which went to my junk folder. Looks fairly legit but when I try the tracking number, (its only 8 numbers long) it doesn't work, nor does it work on the USPS website.
Really hoping its the real deal but I won't know until it A) Gets here or B) I get an email from OUya

I'd imagine not, unless they're shipping from China to the US then to Australia.

    First Impressions:

To be very honest, I got EXACTLY what I hoped for, and expected. The current catalog, while still limited, still had more available than I expected. Am I fan of many of the titles? Not really. But again: Exactly what I expected at this stage. Hexage's titles stand out to me as superior so far, and I hope they bring their remaining titles to OUYA as well (even though I'm sure the UI for games like Townsmen present a significant challenge for them).

Every game I played, either directly from the OUYA store or via one of the emulators played perfectly.

I did notice that some games interface with the controller better than others. For instance, one title was sluggish to respond to button presses, but it performed perfectly fine when using the d-pad. But on the vast majority of what I've played so far, I've had no latency problems at all - so I do not think it's a problem on the OUYA side (but it might be a compatibility issue with their API?).

In the end, it boils down like this:

    1. Even though I wanted to receive my OUYA closer to the original May 28th estimate, I'm thrilled it arrived at all, and before the pre-sale and retail units. Because it's Kickstarter, I never think of my donations as a pre-sale, so the fact that this dream was actually realized and that it's a very good product is wonderful. A wise investment.

    2. I'm exceedingly pleased with the console. It is a well-built product with a lot of attention to detail. I'm really glad they decided to fix the magnets to better hold the faceplates on the controller and also for fixing the sticking buttons issue. The controller deserves the hype. I really enjoyed my experience gaming on it. Even for button mashers like Street Fighter 2.

    3. For a platform in its infancy, OUYA is off to a fantastic start. I'm really excited to see it evolve over time.

I do not want OUYA to be a AAA-studio environment. If a AAA studio wants to release their titles on OUYA, more power to them, but that's not where OUYA excels. That's not their wheelhouse. This is a console that lets me explore new and evolving game developers. I don't always want to say "Indie," because I feel it pigeonholes the discussion. I think there is room for larger studios here too, but I think it's a structure that is far more beneficial to boutique studios who are making fantastic games already. Handygames, Hexage, Mojang, Silvertree Media, etc. Games like Minecraft, Cordy (2), Townsmen, Radiant (Defense), Cobalt... they all have a console home now that doesn't require a HTPC and Steam's Big Picture to cobble together an experience.

I'm excited for it. I'm thrilled to own one, and until the catalog grows, I have all my favorite nostalgic titles to replay, and a few new OUYA favorites too.

PS: If OUYA decides to release upgraded hardware on a roughly yearly schedule, I say "outstanding." AAA consoles are anywhere from 300-500 bucks and are expected to stay current for ~5 years. If OUYA's replacement boards are, say, $75, that's $375 over 5 years, and I can re-use the older models with make-shift cases and new power supplies. At least with the OUYA, my hardware will stay current year after year, and I don't have to shell out all that money all at once. Sounds like a winner to me.

    Thanks for reading.
