Following things need to be tested and confirmed that they are working:
Test whether running the game through the OUYA Launcher works properly. We have followed all instructions from the dev-kit and there should be no problems, but better be safe than sorry.
Test whether all Ouya controls (the buttons O, U, Y, A and the D-Pad) work normally. Since we do not own a developer console, I basically had to code this part blindly, but it should work.
Test whether switching between buttons and touchpad works normally. The expected behavior is that a cursor appears when the touchpad is used and disappears when the buttons are used. When switching to the touchpad, the currently selected button will remain selected, this is normal behavior. It will only be unselected if a "click" event is processed from the touchpad.
Test whether network connectivity works normally. The game supports sharing in-game results through Facebook. You don't have to actually share them, it is enough to press the "FB-Share" button in the in-game menu and when the dialog for login and/or allowing app access to your profile appears, you can cancel as it already means that the feature is working. This features requires a web browser or the Facebook app installed.
Test whether button selections behave properly and intuitively. Due to the nature of the underlying GUI system, buttons are indexed and selection handling is coded mostly manually. Since the selection can "jump" from one sub-menu to another, these switches sometimes behave a bit off as they could select a button indexed at last while visually the button is does not seem to be in the direction in which you pressed the D-Pad. Let us know if the switches are too unintuitive and irritating.
Since the game is rather small, testing shouldn't take longer than 30 minutes. This includes all non-game scenes and menus as well as testing of the gameplay itself.
Feel free to let us know about any problems with the button control scheme as such itself. While the first release will most probably go without any major changes from this release candidate, updates in the future will address possible problems with the control scheme. Due to deadlines and other reasons we were not able to think through a larger number of possible scenarios and controls behaviors, but the current solution is good enough until we can fix things in an update if necessary.
Thank you very much for taking the time to test our game on an actual OUYA console! If you want, we will include your real name or your nickname under our "Special Thanks" section in the credits!
P.S. You don't actually have to drink while testing.
