He said once he used a script to get the apks from the store. Maybe he can use this one more time to create one last Archive. I think I could host this. I have some space I don't really use.

Hi all, I wanted to update you as to the situation with the OUYA.wiki site. Currently, as noted, the host shutdown, but I am migrating to a new one. I am willing to host the site on one of my own servers, but I want to reach out to the OUYA community to see if anyone is interested in helping to keep the OUYA.wiki domain name for at least a few more years. Currently, the cost of .wiki domain names is ~$25 a year, I'm hoping that we can reach out to the community and crowdsource the securing of this domain name.

I will be posting to my social media profiles this evening about this and would encourage everyone that uses the site to re-post it, this will help get the exposure needed to fund the domain name renewals.

    [Update]
I do still run my update script which has been creating an archive of all the non-premiums apps, I will also be hosting this should it be needed. Almost 50GB of apks!

    Geeze, is it that much?!
    *checks*
    Yup.
Blimey. Just for the domain. Then you've hosting, too.

    *thought*
Wonder if I should have a wiki? I certainly have a lot of games.

    *ponders*
Bet that wouldn't be easy to manage.
    Probably not a good idea..

    *considers*
Wonder what I could call it?!
    ...
    *laughs out loud*

Yea, it is a little nuts that it is so much more than a .com

No idea on Wikia, in order to keep the data up to date with what is on the store, ratings, descriptions, etc., it would need an API that I could hook into and honestly I'd rather not recode the bot just to move to a Wikia site instead of a Mediawiki based site. From what I have read, Wikia is a fork of Mediawiki, but no real guarantee that it is a 1:1 or that some of the modules I use on the site will work on Wikia.

Now if we are talking about for archival, once the razor store officially goes offline, then by all means anyone that is wanting to can ask for a copy of my mediawiki site and I'll email them a link to the images and the database. It is about 3GB of data, and they are welcome to port it over to what ever they like. Though that would not include the apks since that is much larger.

I suppose, if no one cares, we could change the domain name. I figured ouya.wiki was very easy and seemed like a logical go to.

I experienced wikia as a slow site full of advertising. I would not recommend that.

Really? Never had that issue with it before but of course that was before. I haven't updated my Wikia in a long time.

Out of curiosity, what is your Wikia site about? Got a link?
