Hate to be that person, but I barely tolerate Windows in my work environment, why in bob's name would I want it pocketable? I understand the whole "You can use steam on this!" thing but, really how many of those games will actually work on that flawlessly? With the amount of unoptimized code/games out there, I find it highly unlikely it will be even remotely successful.

And if you want it for emulation, there is a billion and 2 devices out there for emulation. Like its predecessor the GPD XD', those other bloody androidy tablets, those little devices from AtGames, Neo Geo X, etc.

From the Indiegogo page, wasn't it you pay 300$ then you just need to pay an extra $200, making it a 500$ console?

Just my 2¢ on it anyhow

You were born to be "that person"

I couldn't care less if it was Windows or whatever. That form factor is beyond awkward. That's the thing that turns me away from it.

    Wrong.
I have man hands, not little girl hands, fat hands or anything else.

It's $299 on Indiegogo with free shippping. $499 is what it will retail for.

There's plenty of videos showing tablets running WIN 10 and using the same SOC playing tons of games. So yeah, I think it will run plenty of games fine.

I may be interested in a non-Windows version.

    I agree.
You can buy a win 10/android dual boot z8300 cherrytrail 7" tablet for <$100 and a moga controller or similar device for <$30 that you can mount the screen on & it would probably be more comfortable to boot.
the difference between z8300 and z8500 gaming wise doesn't justify the cost because you won't get that much of a performance boost.

steam client can run on a minimal linux OS also which would run better on this device due to it only having 4gb of ram.
Granted the 64gb of storage is probably Emmc or ssd so swap would be fairly quick.

I just don't think it will work for what most people endup wanting it for.

So there is only 3 days left in the campaign on Indiegogo. So far they are 4.5 times their campaign goal

The specs they settled on are

    SoC: Intel X5-Z8550
    Ram: 4GB
    Storage: 64GB
    Dual channal WiFi (2.4+ 5Ghz)
    Blutooth 4.1
    6000mAh battery

In the end they made a ton of chnages to the GPD WIN. It ended up with a Cherry Trail Z8700 , a copper heat sink and a fan. Plus they bumped the battery up to 6900mAh

Reviews of gameplay look pretty bloody awesome for what it is.
