UPDATE: Just informed by Julie Uhrman, that The Traveling OUYA is one of OUYA's prototypes, but not the final one releasing next week. It does work though.
This just in... OUYA is a small silver box with large radiused corners on the bottom. In other news, the sky is blue and water is wet.
Seriously though, we pretty much know exactly what this thing will look like. Why the excitement? It's not a secret.
We haven't seen the final controller yet. And feeling invested in the OUYA, I'm particularly interested in what they're doing with the packaging. Because that will be the first impression that "regular customers" have when it's released in June. Really, I find all facets of the launch of this product to be intriguing being the first of its kind.
P.S. In case you were curious, you were Kickstarter backer number 5 for OUYA. Thank you for believing.
The renders don't necessarily result in the end product. Case and point, the motherboard is vertical, where the render shows it horizontal. But, you're mostly right...really it doesn't matter, that said, I think most people want to know if it will be brushed aluminum or gunmetal black, since we haven't gotten any response from this question.
Well if this was supposed to be pictures of the final controller or retail packaging then... OK, I guess. That is, after all, something we don't know. But the box itself will be the clear developer box except silver (90%+ probability). I'm just saying, I don't get why pictures of the console would be exciting.
Isn't that a sign of success where people want to copy (or FAKE) your product?
Bill Gates once said "If anyone going to steal a OS I rather it be Mine". Meaning that if your product is worth copying or stealing its worth buying.
If the images are not doctored, it be a security risk to the Oyua firm, but seeing as the images are doctored I take it as flattery. That someone went out of their way to fake your Product for their own ends.
Please tell me which of these is the final console, since you already know.
Why does it bother you that people want to see what the final build looks like? It's exciting even if we knew exactly what it was going to look like.
I'm also excited to see the final build of OUYA's overlay on Android. Since the developer preview and what was shown conceptually on Kickstarter differed a bit.
I'd guess the one in the middle is the final one for the retail launch given it's the one pictured on all the retail websites.I really hope that they change it to the lighter silver from below, though, since that looks much better to me, especially on the controller.
