Yeah, it's a shame most people in North America don't know about Giana Sisters DS.

It's a wonderful game that was developed and sold only in Germany and Australia in 2009. But just when it seemed the game would never be released in North America, it was published by Destineer and had a limited online-only release on newegg and walmart.com for $20 new. I had already imported the German original, but wanted the US version as a collector's item. Since the game is the same, my US copy is still nice and sealed. I don't expect it to surge in value like EarthBound or anything, I just want to keep it as a keep-sake.

It's such a shame the Android and iOS HD versions suck so much. The DS release beats them in every way, play control, speed, responsiveness, and performance.

That's why it hurts so much that the Ouya port of Giana Sisters DS is so flawed. I want to play this game on Ouya. The game itself is wonderful. It's just this port that isn't.

Just watched the review and the original does look far better. What games next in Ouya classics?

Still, in the hopes voicing my frustrations will perhaps lead to a future update to make the game actually worth purchasing, I've made a video review in my Ouya Classics webseries.

Considering HOW the Ouya version works, I think it's better to play the DS version on PC (under emulation).
OUYA version still fails with animations, no patches.
I really love the Ouya version's HD visuals, but the animations are just BROKEN. Can't play it as is.

I don't recall animations being broken, was pretty sure they were fixed... My only issues with the game were regards to its rather slow play, and its broken level select (sometimes ending up playing the same level twice, or skipping 1 - 2 levels)

the "broken animations bug" appeared to me recently, maybe after some wrong patch...

I stopped playing this game after five minutes because of how buggy it was. The worst and most frequent one I encountered was when my any input from my controller wouldn't work.

Yeah, I got that too. Before anyone says it, no it was not controller lag, it was the game itself.

Well actually, if it's okay with the Mods, I'd like to create an Ouya Classics thread here on this Current ouya Games & Apps forum.

I aim to produce high quality video reviews of Ouya games for my 45k subscribers. I produce them weekly (usually on Mondays or Tuesdays) and have 11 done so far. Games covered so far are:

    Clarc
    Jack 'n Jill
    Bit Dungeon
    Deep Dungeons of Doom
    Cars & Guns
    Stolen Presents
    Bulletwaltz
    X.S.E.E.D
    Twin Tiger Shark
    Shadow Blade
    Giana Sisters [DS]

I've got plenty of games I want to cover myself, but I'm willing to also do Requests Friday where I review an Ouya game that I might not personally have any interest in making. Only caveat is that I won't review paid games that don't have demos unless it's a game I happen to have bought on my own.
