If this turns out to be a hoax, it probably won't change my perspective on ouya development. If it isn't a hoax then ... well .. We've never really relied on the company to do anything other than give us a platform to run on. It really doesn't make a huge difference. Most devs on the system weren't making a ton of money anyway. Its still a cool platform to do a lot of things with.

The one critical problem I can see coming if this really is the case is that the consoles don't do anything without being able to log in to ouyas servers for auth. If the servers go down, there are going to be a lot of people without enough technical confidence to put a new ROM on it to make it useful again.
