At least an update would show some sign of life since they're not showing too many other signs of life. That is the biggest thing that people are looking for, signs of life... They shouldn't have posted it if it wasn't meant to be posted. They shouldn't have said an update was coming months ago then pull it and say nothing. The silence is the problem.

It's never a bad thing to want to desire more support in the form of an update for something you own. It means that the money and time you paid as an investment towards that product is investing back into you. I'm willing to bet there was miscommunication is the office. If I recall correctly, today was around the original release date of this update. I imagine someone didn't get the memo that it got pushed back.
