The sound on Fpse is probably the worst part in my experience. When it plays, it's laggy and staticy. The sound effects tend to lag significantly behind the actions. I have played a lot with the sound settings and never really been happy with it.
Hi everyone.
I tried to mess around a bit with the PS1 emulator and instantly bought it. There's just one issue I'm having: no music, in detail: no CD music.
I installed an image of Rage Racer, containing 750MB of data, so I suppose the music tracks should be included, but it doesn't play it.
Is there something I have to look for in general?
Thanks
Alex

In my experience so far, "normal" sound is ok, no lag or dropouts. But I can't get it to play the CD audio. That's pretty annoying, especially for games like Rage Racer, where you need the music for the speed feeling...![]()

Handy Hint : Put the disc into a PS3. I was somewhat shocked to see it happily played my PS1 classics, then spent the day playing Parappa and Um Jammer all the way through!!
.. That likely doesn't help, but realistically i've found this to be the most compatible, and least tweak-necessary, foolproof way of playing my old PS1 games.
... And you DO own the originals.. DON'T YOU...

Ps3 plays ps1? Any ps3?

I think so, yeah.
I remember they made a big deal out of removing PS2 compatibility, so wasn't expecting the PS1 to work, but thought.. "Might as well try it!"
..
Was a "AWESOME!!" moment!!

This is indeed the best solution, and I do have a PS3 and some PS1 games.
But...I want my little cube to do it too! I love the elegance of one unit being so capable. Ouya can handle this, it's the emulator that needs properly fixing. Luckily Retroarch makes a bloody good stab at it.
Yes. I find it a little strange to get the answer "use a Playstation", when I ask something about the emulator. I want to concentrate my gaming library in the little cube for convenience.
If I knew a way to rip my originals in a way that the emulator plays them properly, I would do it right away.

Sideload epsxe on the system - it's fantastic and runs really well. You even get cover art region-by-region, which is nice.

you need to ensure that you rip your games with AUDIO Track (like Ridge Racer) right; aka bin/iso & cue file. when you have a cue file, open it with any texteditor and check if the audiotracks are there.
and yes: get rid of FPSE and sideload epsxe. Much better in every aspect.
