    Games v. Apps

Everyone is getting the ouya for some type of reason. Apps, games, emulators, stream videos. But I am just curious, how many of you are getting the OUYA primarily for games and how many of you and getting it for its apps? I mean its nice to have both but i am pretty sure alot of you are going to be using your OUYA for one thing or the other. And this is also a big thing for developers too, what do you plan on creating for the OUYA? I would love to hear as many opinions as possible.

Want a particular indie game on the OUYA? PM me the name of the game or the team who made it and I'll be happy to send them an email and PM you their response

Both Good poll, it's already interesting to see the split and lack of votes for apps alone

    Both here as well.

Interesting results indeed. Though, we shouldn't be too surprised at the lack of votes for "apps only", seeing as this is supposed to be primarily a gaming console.

    Kickstarter Ouya: 100% Games
Next Ouya: 100% Apps (maybe used as Ubuntu PC)

Perhaps I'm just not very imaginative, but the only really major application I can see for the OUYA aside from gaming is TV streaming (and I hardly watch much TV). I use my tablet for reading and my phone for things that I need to do on the go, like using the maps app, neither of which is applicable for the OUYA

I mean i understand the ouya won't have alot of apps at first but you never know what they'll come up with. But be it as it may, I voted a little of both too, just surprised no one voted apps. I know ima be using Twitch TV, and XBMC alot tho.

My 2nd (and maybe 3rd/4th/5th...) Ouya will be for apps only, home brewing some Android stuff at the mo. The first will be solely for games / XBMC under the TV, all the others will be in my lab, planning lots of cool hacks and uses for Ouya

Well, I appear to be the only one so far who voted apps. I'm not saying that I don't play to play games on the OUYA. Fact of the matter is, the close the launch gets, the more excited I get about this device as a whole. Some of the games being developed look amazing. But truch be told, it was the inclusion of official XBMC that prompted me to pre-order this awesome little device. So I voted apps. :-)

I do seriously want to use this as my alternative/dedicated movie watching device. Especially since Hulu occasionally gets really "jittery" even on the high-end PC I use it on - really distracting.

I am strictly in this for the GAMES! I have my phone and tablet for running apps all day long!

    Bring-on the GAMES!....Tic-Toc-Tic-Toc....Almost Time!
