It is a great day, my friends. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is on the Amazon App Store and works perfectly on the OUYA. No rooting required. It’s as glorious as I remember, and I cried a little bit when I discovered that it works with the OUYA controller. It usually costs $9.99, but it's on sale right now for $4.99.

The tutorials are set up for touch controls, so I’ve listed the gamepad controls below.

Exploring
Left Stick – movement
Right Stick – camera
RT/LT – cycle character
RB/LB - cycle target
R3/L3 - pause
O – OK/confirm
U - action
Y - menu
A – cancel
Touchpad – actions on bottom right (medpacs, etc.)


Battle (as above, except items below)
U – cycle action of same type
Touchpad – change action (grenades, etc.)

That is interesting because before people sideloaded from GP and it didn't work at all with a controller...

Anyway, guess they wanted to make it controller friendly for Amazon. So there you go people who have been asking for it. Though it would be better as an OUYA native game...

Good to hear because I was almost afraid to try this with my OUYA. The touch controls are bloody terrible!

That is interesting because before people sideloaded from GP and it didn't work at all with a controller...

The page on Google Play mentions that Android TV support has been added, and that the game can now detect gamepads. Amazon must've gotten the same version.

i bought the amazon version. it installed, but crashed during the download for the games resources. i dont know if its because of space, (i have roughtly 2 gigs on ouyas hard drive available. 2.5 - .5gb) im not sure how to clear more out as i dont really have a any or many games installed to it, most are on USB.

At boot-up it does a resource check to make sure you have the OOB in the right place. If not, then it crashes. Is this what is happening?

I mean maybe. It happens so fast. It wont have the OBB yet. As the amazon installation from the app store didn't include it. But in the last few seconds as I type this. I remembered amazon downloads dont like Ethernet connections. Maybe it will download if I unplug my cord.

It's sounds like a space issue. The game takes 2.4 gb and probably needs more during install. Weinersoup, if you've downloaded a lot of Amazon games you may still have the apks of the one's you've deleted. Check android/data/com.amazon.venezia/cache/apks. I'm going by memory so explore around if that's not exactly right.
