Vatigo: Did you expect the reception you're getting from Mega Magnitude? I knew you had something going just from the pictures alone, and when I revived the thread in Upcoming Games & Applications to find out that you dropped it... Well, let's just say that it shocked me. I knew I had to convince you to release the game because as a consumer, I knew what other consumers want from the OUYA. Mega Magnitude was just the game we needed and I'm glad that you took my feedback to improve on the shelved game and polished it into an OUYA masterpiece.
My next suggestion... Add a damn donation feature as others have said.

Thank you Riot, the reception is much better than I expected.
I've been working on the game for a very long time and it changed a lot during development.
I got sick of looking at it after so much time and I felt like it's never going to be as good as I'd like it to be.
I thought about all the mistakes I made and how I'd do things differently.
At the time when you wrote that post in the Upcoming games section, MM was pretty much discarded as a bitter disappointment and it was almost a year since I last looked at the game.
I've since moved on to other projects.
I know that you are very direct and I remember how you used to call out crappy games back in the old SANDBOX days, so it came as a surprise when you asked about MM.
I knew I'd get an honest opinion from you so I decided to send you a build before giving up completely. But first, I needed to clean up some bugs.
After almost a year I booted the game on my OUYA and I was surprised to discover that it wasn't as bad as I thought.
Sure, it's not what I envisioned initially, but on its own, it was kind of fun, but buggy.
So I took a couple of days, fixed all the bugs I noticed and sent you the file... not long after that, I got your response and it was the most constructive feedback I've ever read!
I implemented changes that I could, polished it a bit and after some more testing it was finally released on DISCOVER.
Only after that I slowly realized, with the feedback from all you guys, that I've actually made a pretty fun game.
I'm really digging the game. It's one of the few really free to play games on the system and it legit doesn't cost a cent to do anything in - even if the upgrades were pay-only, I'd have been fine with that. Very impressed by this.

I really enjoy this game! The only thing that I would like to see is a way to turn off the bloody parts when your guy dies. My son wants to play it and I try not let him play games with blood in them, he is only 5.Perhaps an option to instead just skip that animation?

Really nice game! Was surprised it was completely free.

It was my pleasure helping you and Mega Magnitude. Games rarely stay the same in a visionary sense when they go through their development cycle's. Just recently, the Lobodestroyo team had to cut back on content because their dream was too big for the OUYA hardware. Things change whether you like it or not, but the bar you always have to strive to reach for is to just make whatever that comes out a good game.
Yeah, I used to be quite direct in my constructive criticism. So much so, that some people thought it was destructive. Thank you for the compliment as I've always found my brand of deliverance unfortunately rare despite the fact that it always comes through in the end when the developers who're listening to me rip them a new asshole actually give a shit about what they do. I've helped out countless developers in the past so giving feedback for your game was easy. Especially considering that it was fun to play.
Anyways, I'll let you take things from here. If you have a future title that needs feedback then send me a build and I'll get back to you when I can. I'm tempted to offer up such services for other developers sooner or later as a small hobby of mine.

It has nothing to do with the OUYA hardware, the scope in general was bigger than realized, which is a game planning/design issue more than hardware limitations (ie: feature creep and failing to go through the 'cutting back' process). Unless you have proof of them saying specifically that, those words should not be placed in blaming OUYAs hardware.

Hey Vatigo, you may have seen that I've done a couple of dev interviews on my channel, would you like to be the next one? Sounds like a rocky road to getting the game out there and might make an interesting story. Also good promo for ya game.![]()
